Autumn was getting closer and as usual, the weather started getting colder and colder each passing day. Y/n and kei started working on the renovation for a couple of days now, and as they both promised, they were trying their hardest to be as civil to each other as they could.

They were looking through some second hand furnitures to add in the restaurant to make it cozier and comfortable looking, since they wanted that as the new theme, for it to be comfortable enough for people to feel like they're at home. "Look how cute this is" y/n showed her computer to the guy in front of her who just did a weird face at her.

"Eh, it's not that great, look for something else. Plus it's not in the budget, it's far too expensive for what it looks like" kei looked back at his computer while y/n just retrieved her computer back and pursed her lips tightly, "you're so mean to the poor lamp, it probably gone through some really tough stuff in its past"

"It's a lamp, what are you talking about"

Y/n groaned, "you just don't get it, it's so much more than a lamp, it was probably really pretty when they first bought it, and she's just old now. I bet she was happy that she got bought in the first place because all her friends were already bought before her."

"Do you realize you're talking about a lamp right now? and what do you mean she? it has pronouns now?" kei looked at her with a weird confused face, he stared at her as she talked more while grinning, "yes, I mean its probably bad that i assume but she just looks like she needs some personality so i can convince you she'd be a great add on in the restaurant"

Kei still looked at her weird but he remembered this side of y/n, it never really disappeared, ever since high school she had this weird thing about making objects have back stories, and making it seem like they were real and true people. He always thought it was a funny thing she did.

"Are you like mentally ill" y/n looked at him offended, "first of all that's totally not cool of you to say, second maybe"

Suddenly a girl walked in, "Oh—sorry we're not open" the door still swung open and y/n turned around, to her surprise she ran up to kei and gave him a tight hug.

As soon as Nao realized that y/n and kei were staring at her, she quickly pulled away and smiled at them, "Y/n! long time no see!!" y/n blinked a couple of times trying to remember who she was, then her eyes widen, it was the same girl from high school.

The same girl Kei cheated on her with.

She couldn't believe that all this time, he was still with her, she thought that maybe they weren't the best of friends or even friends right now but maybe he had some sort of respect for her.

"Y/n? you look pale as a ghost, are you cold?" Nao talked, looking at y/n who still can't comprehend what was happening, but she quickly snapped out of it, "Oh my god! It's great seeing you Nao!" kei and the girl beside her could feel the nervous tone that y/n tried to cover up.

"Yeah, isn't this exactly just like high school? this is so cool seeing us together in the same room again!" Nao added, taking a seat from another table, 'yeah cause the last time we were in the same room you were kissing with my boyfriend' y/n thought keeping a stoic expression.

"Uh why are you here, Nao?" kei asked facing the brunette that sat beside him, he was quite nervous too, knowing that this is probably awkward for y/n. He didn't really expect Nao to come today, well for the most part as mean as it sounded he kind of forgotten about her.

"Oh, well i just wanted to bring lunch—im sorry y/n i only bought food for kei and i today, i promise when i come again I'll bring you some" Nao smiled innocently, and y/n's face twitched as she tried to smile back, "don't sweat it, I have my own food anyway"

Kei looked at y/n, they were all eating in silence while music played from the restaurant's speakers making the whole thing less awkward than it was, Nao could notice kei staring at the h/c haired girl wondering what he could be thinking.

She wouldn't admit it but she was worried that kei might be gaining feelings for her again.

After they ate, they tried to do what they were doing before Nao came, looking for furnitures, but both knew it wasn't the same. The rest of their time spent there was just Nao bringing up old high school memories but it didn't quite help because neither y/n and kei wanted to remember anything about it.

A couple hours passed by, y/n was surprised she was able to not just storm out of there, but finally Nao brought up the thought of going home and they all agreed to do so.

Kei gave y/n a short smile, but she didn't give him one back, instead she just gave him a light nod, he wasn't even worth of a fake smile.

"Bye y/n!!! It was nice seeing you!" Nao softly yelled and waved, she ran up to kei and tackled him. Y/n went in her car, she couldn't bear him and her being lovey dovey with each other, it made her sick to her stomach, not because she has feelings for him or anything, it was just another level of disrespectful.

As soon as she started thinking that he could have changed, it all went back to hating him all over again
