Second Epilogue

My heavy footsteps echoed through the dark, empty hallway. Lightning strikes shot through my veins as I inched closer to the stage.

The first show back since 2024.

It felt surreal, almost foreign to perform in front of a crowd again. Sam Fender's announcement of my support during his comeback tour sent a wave of exhilaration through the indie rock world. It was a festivity for the fans, and us.

I corrected the fit of my in-ears and took a deep breath. With the lights turning off and screams coming from the audience, I stepped out. In that moment, the adrenaline brought me back to life. My band used the pent up energy to offer the world the best possible performance.

"Hi!", I laughed into the microphone. Words weren't needed as loud cheers roared back at me.

'Sugarcoated' started playing and I let myself go, following the memory of my body and indulging in the feeling of being back in my familiar surroundings.

Our guitars faded out, signaling the end of the song. Another storm of excitement came crashing down on us.

"Thank you so much", my slightly relieved voice rang through the venue,"I'm Lennon, this is my first gig back on the road. I'm very honoured to support Sam on his tour and I hope I can help you have a fun beginning of the night!"

Song after song, speech after speech, I claimed my spot in the industry once again. The people in front of the stage gave me the warmest welcome back I could have imagined.

My heart swelled in awe of the changes that were made in the past years. I married the man of my dreams, who gifted me two beautiful children and I moved to a region which had aspects of heaven. Most importantly, I felt at peace with my life and myself.

The man of the night embraced me into a brotherly hug as soon as I exited the stage. He had been my professional support during the nerves of my off-time and the awareness of releasing my new projects after a long time.

Sam rubbed my back: "That was incredible, you haven't changed one bit! How could I beat that?"

"Aw, stop it", I waved him off,"They're here for you. I was just the warm up."

"Well, your album will take off nonetheless. Welcome back, Lenny."
