I never even asked her what flowers she liked. I look around the shop cursing myself for not asking earlier today.
"Hi there, can I help you?" The shop assistant asks her smile bright.
"Please! I was looking for a bunch of flowers, am I able to pick out an arrangement?" I ask unsure how flower shops work.
"Yes, of course. Have you got anything in mind?" The young girl replies and I nod. "Perfect, you just point at what you're after and I'll get it all sorted for you."
I look at the flowers seeing what ones I think suit Sadie best I'm immediately drawn to the dark purple ones that read "calla lily".
"Some of those please." I point at the flowers. " I think some of the red roses too." I continue unsure if I should pick out anything else.
"How about some eucalyptus and baby's breath too just the fill the bouquet out?" The assistant asks reading my mind.
"Sure. Sounds great." I reply as if I have any idea of what the other flowers are. She adds some green shrubs and bits of white flowers to the bundle.
"What colour tissue and ribbon?" She asks.
"Whatever you suggest." I answer and she wraps them in black tissue tying them up with a red bow.
Now that they're wrapped and arranged the green leafs and white flowers look really sweet with the rest. I'm sure Sadie will love them.
She rings up my bill and I quickly pay taking the flowers as I leave. I unlock my car getting inside, placing the flowers on the passenger seat. The time flashes on the dashboard as I start the engine, I have just over an hour to get home and freshen up.
C'mon L.A traffic do not fuck me over now.

I don't really know what I'm doing. Every single fibre in my body wants this but I know reality is a thing and it's most likely going to just end up being a bit of fun. I hate that I'm already having feelings for Nick that I can't seem to keep a lid on no matter how many times I tell myself I need to.
There goes that soft knock on my door again. I quickly spritz my perfume then open the door.
"Hey." Nick smiles shyly behind a bouquet of flowers. "These are for you..." He looks away as I take them from him.
"These are stunning Nick, thank you." I reply and he finally looks at me, our eyes lock. "Thank you." I say again taking them from him smelling the bouquet.
"I think there's water in them?" I questions his own reply and I can't stop myself from giggling.
"Yeah there is." I place the arrangement on the bedside table then take his hand in mine. "So where are we going?"
"You'll see. Let's go." He squeezes my hand and we quickly run down the stairs, out the door and to his car. "Did you tell Mar that we're going on a date?" I shake my head at his question, his smile falters slightly as he starts the engine. I don't know if it's concentration or because I didn't mention it.
