I fucking hate Mondays, especially when my boss Stephen dumps a whole load more work onto me that has literally nothing to do with my job role.

"Dude, this is newbie paperwork? Give it to Amy to do." I tell Stephen taking the paperwork dumping it onto his desk. Cheeky I know, but if you don't have a back bone in this company they'll walk all over you.

"Amy isn't ready for these sort of tasks yet Sadie. You have some free time you can very quickly and efficiently get this done." Stephen replies.

"Amy isn't ready for sorting and filing? Right..."

"Sadie we're a team here at this company..." He starts to ramble but my backs already turned and I'm headed to my own desk.

Fuck this job. What am I doing. I don't even enjoy it. Sure the pays nice and it's what I thought I wanted to do with my life, what I studied years for but it's so shit and I hate every day even more than the day before.

"Are you coming to the pub tonight?" Amy asks stopping at my desk.

"Nah, thanks though." I fucking hate Amy. I swear her and Stephen are having some weird office affair and I definitely don't want to go to the pub with them and find out if I'm right.

"Are you sure? It'll be fun." She giggles, her brunette ponytail swings side to side.

"No, I'm fine. Thanks for the offer though Amy." I flash a smile at her which takes her by surprise and she finally backs off.

Fucking weirdo.

I'm pulling my jacket on when Amy stops at my desk again.

"Offers still there if you want to come?" Amy reminds me and I actually have to stop myself from rolling my eyes at her.

"That's really very kind but I'm busy. Thanks again for the invite though." I reply picking up my bag swinging it over my shoulder.

"Oh! I didn't know you had plans. Got a date?" She asks and I manage to control myself and not laugh in her face.

"No Amy, I don't have a date. I'm busy. Have a nice night." I push past her making my way for the exit.

I automatically open WhatsApp seeing Nicks name in my contacts. My thumb hovers over his name.

Fuck it. It's just a text.

Sadie - Hey! Hope your tours going well so far! :)

I swipe off of the app quickly so I don't have to see his response. He might not even reply. Who knew a text would be so stressful.

Waiting on the tube pulling my headphones over my ears, "Ghost Of Me" by Make Them Suffer begins to play as I find a seat. I have another string of texts from Cassidy, mostly of her freaking out over the fact that she's hanging out with Bad Omens.

Nick - Hey! Tours going good. How's your work going? we're in London soon, will you be free for a drink or something?

A smile spreads across my face, who knew a simple text could make you feel this way.

Sadie - Works work. Sure let me know when you're here and I can catch up with you :)

Nick - oh no? Not good? We're in London Wednesday afternoon :) too short notice?
