Kagome glanced over at Inuyasha, seeing that he was fast asleep. She observed him for a moment, his once-tense features now softened by sleep. She felt a strange pang in her heart, conflicted between the frustration and disappointment she felt towards him and the hint of tenderness she couldn't deny.

With a soft sigh, she closed her eyes and tried to push her thoughts aside, drifting back into a fitful sleep.

Inuyasha continued to sleep soundly throughout the night, unaware of Kagome's troubled thoughts. His dreams were filled with fragmented images of the journey ahead and the shards they had to find.

As the first light of dawn began to seep through the small window of the hut, Inuyasha slowly stirred, his eyes fluttering open as he woke from his sleep.

Inuyasha sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes as his senses slowly recalibrated to the waking world.

InuYasha felt a slight stiffness in his back from sleeping on the hard floor, but otherwise, he was surprisingly well-rested. he looked over and saw that Kagome was still asleep in her sleeping bag, her breathing steady and even. He hesitated for a moment, contemplating waking her.

Shaking his head slightly, Inuyasha decided against waking her. It was still early, and he knew she had been dealing with her own emotional turmoil last night. He figured she could use a bit more rest.

Instead, Inuyasha rose silently and quietly exited the tiny hut, needing some fresh air to clear his thoughts.

Stepping out into the crisp morning air, Inuyasha inhaled deeply, feeling the cool breeze against his face. The sky was just beginning to turn a soft shade of pink, signaling the approach of the dawn. He leaned against the wall of the hut, his hands in his pockets, and took in the peaceful surroundings.

The quiet of the morning was almost meditative, broken only by the occasional chirping of birds in the nearby trees. Inuyasha closed his eyes for a moment, relishing the solitude and the absence of Kagome's persistent presence.

But even in the silence, Kagome's words from the previous night echoed through his mind, reminding him of the complex emotions he felt towards her. He frowned, feeling a tinge of guilt and frustration at the way he had once again pushed her away.

Kagome woke up from her troubled sleep, feeling groggy and disoriented. She sat up in her sleeping bag, the events of the previous night coming back to her in a rush. She looked around the small hut, immediately noticing Inuyasha's absence.

With a weary sigh, she pushed aside the lingering fatigue and got up from her sleeping bag, stretching her limbs and shaking off the remnants of her restless sleep.

Kagome's eyes scanned the small, empty hut, realizing that Inuyasha was nowhere to be seen. She wondered where he could have gone and what he was doing. Knowing his habit of disappearing without notice, she wasn't particularly surprised, but a touch of concern niggled at the back of her mind.

Ignoring her initial annoyance, she decided to step outside and see if she could find him. As she pushed open the door and stepped into the crisp morning air, she was greeted by a sight that both surprised and intrigued her: Inuyasha standing solitary under a tree, seemingly lost in thought.

As Kagome approached Inuyasha, the sight of his red kimono fluttering in the breeze was a stark contrast against the early morning sky. The wind tugged at his silvery hair, making it billow around him like a silken halo. He seemed unaware of her approach, his gaze distant and introspective.
