Izuku looked through his bag, Momo reading while petting Hime in her lap. The boy was a bit bored, and was planning to reread the MARVEL comics, though he stumbled upon hairclips and hair ties. He took them out, blinking slightly, before looking up at his roommate. The greenie opened his mouth to speak, before closing it again, hesitant. After a little while, he managed to get out some words.
"Momo-san...?" The girl looked over to him, Hime also looking down at him, tail swaying behind her.
"Um... Can I... uh... do your hair...? Please...?" The raven-haired girl's eyes lit up, and she nodded ecstatically as she made room for him on the bed, Hime moving off her lap with a low, kinda irritated, meow.
"Of course!" The girl patted the space behind her, and Izuku nodded and stood up, walking over to the bed and sitting down, his legs dangling off the edge of the mattress. He took out her hair tie and picked up her brush, though shocked he didn't need to go through her black hair much, as it was already knot free and silky. The boy put the brush down, and began styling the soft hair, which he sometimes just held in his hands for a few moments. It was just so pretty; he wondered what hair products she used. Hime moved into his lap, nuzzling her head into his stomach, giving him a weird feeling that he ignored while braiding the locks of hair in front of him.
"Momo! I- what's this?" Her mother walked in on him styling her daughter's hair, and they both stared at her, at each other, then back at the woman.
"Izuku-kun is doing my hair." The girl simply stated, and her mother entered the room, eyes narrowed while taking off her heels.
"I see that... but why?"
"Well, he wanted to." Izuku was putting in some hair pins, as well as threading in some red ribbons, the pins held in his mouth while Hime watched from his shoulders, intrigue in her now dilated eyes. The cat's tail swayed behind her, trailing across the boy's back while he gave her chin scratches every so often.
"Young boy. You shouldn't be playing with hair." He stopped his work momentarily, looking over Momo's shoulder and at her mother.
"May I ask why ma'am...?" The tall woman crossed her arms impatiently, and Izuku gave a side glance to Hime, who gave a soft meow and an eye roll, shifting on his shoulder.
"Because that is for girls. You shouldn't be doing... dress up, or whatever this is." Momo frowned, and Izuku's brow raised.
"Ma'am, you are aware that your husband gets his hair cut at the barber correct...? And that barbers are primarily men...? Which means they style hair, or rather, 'dress up' hair as their day job...?" The woman went silent, and her daughter let out a small snicker, a hand over her mouth to prevent more.
"Well, yes... but they don't play with hair clips or ribbons. That is for young girls." The greenie's eyes narrowed, and he continued working on Momo's hair in slight spite of the older.
"May I ask your job ma'am...?"
"I am a well-respected CEO. Your point?" The woman began tapping her finger on her elbow, brows furrowed.
"And is that a job a woman should be doing...?" He didn't really mean to be rude, though he said it to help get his point across. This pissed the older off, and her daughter gasped a bit.
"Young boy! That is not something you should say! It is extremely sexist! Where did-"
"Well, you see, sexism goes both ways, ma'am... telling me that I cannot do hair specifically because I am a boy is misogynistic... as is saying your job shouldn't be handled by a woman... which I apologise for... do you see what I mean...?" The mother was silent, before she sighed, and her daughter looked between the two.
"Well... what was it you needed 'Kaasan?" The older's eyes lit up as she looked back to her daughter, clapping her hands together.
"I managed to free up some time for the rest of the day! I was wondering if you'd like to spend it together?" Momo smiled, her peal-white teeth showing.
"I'd love to! Can Izuku and I do your hair when he's done with mine?" Her mothers smile fell slightly, and looked at Izuku, who met her gaze with narrowed eyes, almost challenging the woman, before sighing and smiling again.
"Of course, Momo. I needed a change in style anyways." She sat on her daughter's bed, listening to her tell her about different kinds of rocks she learnt about in her encyclopedia while Izuku finished the girl's hair, then began trash talking her employees while Izuku and Momo did her own hair, complaining about clients as well and her husband. She was surprised at how well the two kids understood her occupation, and felt pride for Momo, and a tad bit of intrigue for her daughter's new friend.
The only boy in the trio learnt to call Mrs. Yaoyorozu 'Maiya', and learnt she is where Momo got her quirk. The girls were doing his hair while he analysed MARVEL heroes. He wrote in Dutch, practicing the language Catharina had taught him during their free time.
"Izuku-kun, which heroes are you writing about? I don't recognise their names." Maiya asked, doing a French braid with the top half the boy's hair while her daughter worked on brushing out knots of the bottom layer.
"Um... 21st century comic heroes..." This earned quizzical looks from the two girls and a cat.
"21st century? Where on Earth did you find comics from then?"
"My great grandma..." Does Granny B count as his grandma? She might as well be everyone's grandma, very sweet lady. The girls went back to doing his hair, and Momo asked:
"Can you tell us about them? I like the one called... um. Is it Black Widow?" Izuku nodded, her mother complimented her pronunciation and gave her a small pat on the head.
"Mm... Black Widow, more commonly known as Natasha Romanoff, her real name Natalia Romanova. She's a Russian spy, born in the Soviet Union. She was orphaned as a child, and as she grew older, her talents caught the eye of the Soviet Intelligence and got recruited into their ranks. She was kidnapped-" Izuku went on and on about the spy, not realising his rambling, but wasn't stopped by the girls, who enjoyed listening to the quiet boy talk so enthusiastically about someone they previously hadn't even known existed.
This went on for forever, Izuku going over almost all the MARVEL comic characters, getting into their movie counter parts while the girls gave him multiple hair styles, the mother in the pair taking pictures after each one to send to her sisters. Momo would pipe in sometimes, asking Izuku about potential theories, and the two ended up theorizing about Capsicle and how he managed to come out scot free of hypothermia, though couldn't come up with a proper solution because they didn't know what went into the serum that made him who he was.
Maiya laughed at the antics, especially with the nicknames Tony Stark gave everyone, which Izuku used every now and then. The all-time favourite was 'Forehead of security' for Happy. They even decided to give silly nicknames to Momo's dad, who Maiya didn't really like, given it was an arranged marriage and not a love marriage. They also gave nicknames to the butlers, which always made Momo giggle, and the infectious laugh spread to Maiya, and earned a small -barely noticeable- smile from Izuku.
(A/N: I'm just putting in fillers, so sorry but I need to add chapter-ish-es and show bonding before I can get to major stuff, please bare with me 😭)
