A week later, and Izuku is once again playing dress up with Tonja and Beatrice. He's gotten used to it, and he's even learnt how to do different kinds of braids from the girls. He was currently wearing a white shirt with jean overalls that had a daisy embroidered on it, white socks and white light up shoes, his hair decorated with lots of yellow star hairclips. He liked this more since it wasn't a dress, and didn't bother to change into something else as the girls brought him up to Granny B's attic.

The ladder was brought down by Caspar, and it was very dusty, but Izuku managed just fine. It wasn't like it was too different to the vents. The girls however were coughing up a storm. The boy opened the window in the attic, letting in some sunlight and fresh air, and looked at the various boxes inside. Granny B really did like storage and organization. Though the girls coughing was mildly infuriating, so he asked them in the politest way he could for them to be quiet and go back downstairs while he cleaned the place. They did so, and he went back down to get a broom and wet cloths.

Once it was clean, the girls came up again and started opening random boxes. They found one labelled Barbies, but were very much disappointed when they didn't look like the modern-day Barbies.

"Why is her face just painted on?" "Barbie's limbs can move like real people! Why is this one so stiff?" "Yeah! She's meant to have joints in the elbows, knees, hands, feet and fingers!" "I feel bad for Granny B if this is what she had to play with." "This is like a knock off! Like uh- uh..." "Brittany!" "Yeah!"

While Tonja and Beatrice insulted the 21st century dolls, Izuku's eye was caught by a small metal box. He reached for it, almost had five boxes fall onto him, then went to the ladder and sat down, tracing his finger over the dusty box. It had silver latches, with a black handle, it's main base metallic red. The boy picked up one of the cloths he had brought up, and wiped off the grime, leaving it glinting in the sun light. The girls, who had found porcelain dolls which seemed to satisfy them more than the Barbies, (Izuku didn't understand how that worked but didn't question it) sat on either side of him, holding their dolls close.

"Ooo~" "Open it! Open it!" "I wanna see what's inside!" "Me to!"

And so, the Japanese boy opened it. Inside was a gold locket, a gold bracelet with a circular center piece, and a gold ring, all with a floral engravement on the top. Izuku picked up the locket, and the girls fought over the ring, before Beatrice won and Tonja took the bracelet, sulking. The boy in the trio paid no mind as he cleaned the locket, making it shine further. It took his breath away. On the inside of the locket was a text rather than a picture, which said "BE CAREFUL WHO YOU TRUST, THE DEVIL WAS ONCE AN ANGEL".

It was mildly creepy for him, and so he closed the red box, leaving it and the girls in the attic while he went down the ladder to ask Granny B about it. The old woman was in her bedroom, crocheting while humming to herself. Izuku stood by the door before knocking on the frame. She looked up and smiled to him.

"Hello dear, you can come in." The boy nodded and walked over to her, circling around the bed to stand next to her, and holding out the locket. Granny B picked up her round glasses to take a look at it.

"Um... what does the saying mean...?" Izuku asked as the woman took it, inspecting the locket's design before opening it. Once she read the words, she looked back up to him.

"It just means that someone who's sweet can betray you, so you must only trust people you're sure will be there for you." She smiled and put the locket around his neck.

"It suits you dear, you can keep it. It was probably from my grandparents or older, and I don't think they'd mind you having it." She patted his head and went back to crocheting. But the boy stood still, looking at the ground. Even nice people can betray you? Then who's to say Granny B won't betray him? That Tonja and Beatrice won't bully him when they finally figure out he's quirkless? They may be stupid, but it won't take too long before Sasha or Caspar either tell them or they figure it out themselves.
