Diary Entry Number 18

Name: Izuku Midoriya

Age: 7

I'm currently in the car with the Harper family, who are now leaving Granny B's house. It was fun for the most part, the twins made sure to try and make it as exciting as possible. They're currently sleeping on the seats next to me, and their parents are making light conversation in the front. I'm going to miss Granny B's cookies. Thankfully she gave me the recipe so I could show 'Kaasan. I bet they would've gotten along perfectly. I'm also glad Granny B let me take the extra comics she had. I would've been very bored on my trip home without them.

Till then.

The boy closed his notebook, leaning his head back on the head rest. He closed his eyes, drifting off to sleep.

Izuku woke with a start. He had a nightmare but was woken up before the climax by the girls, telling him they were at the train station. The boy took a few deep breaths before getting out the car after checking his bag for everything, as well as putting on Catharina's coat. He had to roll up the sleeves because they were too long though. Sasha got out as well, with her wallet and a pocketknife. She handed the knife to him closed, and the boy inspected it carefully.

"I'll be coming with you just until you get on the train. Wouldn't want you to get on the wrong one." She ruffled the child's hair, and they made their way to the information. After a long while of listening to two adults talk, Sasha paid for Izuku's ticket and handed it to him.

"Hold onto that 'kay?" He nodded and followed her to platform 8. There were quite a few people, and Izuku got nervous, but the woman encouraged him.

"You don't have to worry about missing your stop. It's the last one, and just in case, the name's RosWater station, remember that?"

"Mm..." The woman smiled and ruffled his hair once more as the train neared. Izuku turned to look at the train, and his heart began pounding in his head, and he tried to remember to breathe. The train came to a stop, and Sasha led him to the doors before anyone else could crowd it. He put the ticket in a small slot on the train and made his way to an empty seat by the window. One of the passengers was confused as to why he was by himself and began whispering to another. The Japanese kid felt very out of place and turned to look out the window, seeing the girls running to their mother. Seems they got bored in the car. The twins stayed by their mother's side, clinging to her pants and waving when they saw his green hair. He waved back, and the tears the girls had caused small tears of his own.

The doors closed, and the train began moving. Izuku turned and sat properly in his seat while wiping away the tiny tears, suddenly aware of the stares he was getting. He gripped the knife in his pocket, and the locket around his neck, looking down at the floor.

"What's a kid doing all alone...?" "Where's his parents...?" "Or her parents...?" "Just because they have hair clips and a necklace doesn't make them a girl..." "But you can't assume gender." "Fair..." "But seriously, where're the parents...?" "They might be lost..." "I don't see anyone else with green hair..." "Wasn't there a woman with them...?" "Why would a mother send off her child...?"

Gosh, can they shut up? The boy took deep breaths, but the train was stuffy, and all he could smell was sweat and body odor, and all he could hear was the murmurs and breathing of the people around him. His eyes welled up, and he let go of the trinkets, opting to cover his ears instead.  He closed his eyes, trying to sleep, but with such a crowded area he couldn't, not with the contact that the slightly swaying train made with strangers. The feeling of skin on skin made him sick. Someone tapped his head, and he looked up, though couldn't see through blurry tears.
