Izuku walked away from the written exams, making his way to the auditorium, where he'd get a brief of the practical for the hero course of U.A. He was surprised that even though he registered as quirkless, they didn't send him away. He didn't even get a condescending email to tell him good luck like his back up high schools. The teen did his hair into a French braid behind him, bringing it over his shoulder when it started getting awkward to do so. He had his knife clipped to a belt Momo gave him, as well as a second she had made. He had practiced using both of them to get used to wielding two blades at once. It was a bit strange at first, but he got used to it soon enough.
The greenie hadn't seen Katsuki like he'd hoped to, but he did talk to a nice girl at the gates. Or rather, she spoke to him, and he just listened. He hadn't been too focused on her after he almost fell, having been tripped by Kai, who followed him to U.A. to be a 'supervisor', rather revising for the written test in his head, but he could tell she was a nice person. She just had that kind of air to her, you know? And she told Kai off a bit for tripping him. Though that's probably because she didn't know he was quirkless. Oh well.
Inside, he took a seat, and he did see Katsuki! But the blonde seemed less than thrilled to see the guy who had helped him earlier that year, and he moved to sit an entire row away. Ouch. Izuku sighed and tied off his braid, sitting straight in his chair with his hands in his lap. He seemed to be the only one in there without a school uniform, which made him feel out of place. Maybe he should've worn the orphanage clothes and kept what he was currently wearing in a bag to change into later.
Present Mic came in, and when he greeted everyone, it was just met with silence. Izuku almost felt bad. Mid way through the explanation, someone with blue hair stood up, and his voice sounded a bit obnoxious to the greenie. Why did he have to sound so bossy? Just let the man do his job! Geez. It did lighten his mood though when the freckled teen saw the blonde seem annoyed as well.
When the brief was finished, Izuku made his way to his designated section, working out the math roughly in his head to make it into the top 5. The teen guessed you needed 50 or so points, and since one pointers will probably be more common, it would be easier to get at least 15 of them, 10 of the two pointers, and 5 of the three pointers. Those will be his priorities, and he won't dawdle getting to them. Any points gained afterwards will just be guaranteeing his place at U.A. Honestly, why even put in a zero pointer? No one's going to pay attention to it.
The greenie sighed, taking off his jacket, and tied it around his waist, though took his knives out of his belt first. He stretched his arms above his head, eyes closed while trying to keep any unnecessary nerves from surfacing. His real problems were back at the orphanage, and this should be the least of his worries at the moment.
"Can't you see she's trying to concentrate? You should let her calm her nerves. This a very important day for us all, and you shouldn't try and distract her." It was that obnoxious voice from earlier, followed by the voice of the girl he met at the gate. Izuku opened his eyes and brought his arms down, though he soon narrowed his gaze in irritation. Good grief. These people need to be taught to mind their own business, and the greenie wouldn't have butted in if it hadn't been for the fact he realised bluey was referring to him.
"It's not like that- really! I just wanted to-"
"If you don't mind... could you both be quiet...? You're causing a racket..." The brunette and blueberry looked over to him, blinking in confusion.
"Also, if we do end up classmates after this... I'd appreciate it if you used he/him pronouns for me..." Izuku said, now checking his knives sharpness, and they both quickly apologised, the boy between the two pulling out a ninety-degree bow, earning a raised brow from the greenie, and a confused glance from the girl.
