Harry adjusted his collar for the fourth time that night, his reflection staring back at him with a mixture of nerves and hope. This was it—his first real date with Draco Malfoy. After years of stolen glances and awkward conversations in the Auror office, they'd finally taken the plunge.

He was determined to make an impression, and to that end, he'd spent the past two nights memorizing random facts. Knowledge, after all, was attractive... right?

The small café Draco had chosen was tucked away on a quiet London street, far from the prying eyes of the Wizarding world. Candlelight flickered on each table, and the low hum of conversation filled the air. Harry spotted Draco already seated by the window, looking effortlessly elegant in a grey coat.

"Potter," Draco greeted when Harry slid into the seat across from him, a smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

"Malfoy," Harry replied, trying not to grin too wide.

For a moment, there was only the sound of menus being opened and brows furrowing in thought over selections. But Harry knew he had to break the silence. This was his chance to show Draco that he could be interesting—fascinating, even.

"So," Harry began, leaning slightly forward, "did you know that the human nose can detect over a trillion different scents?"

Draco blinked, clearly caught off guard. "I... wasn't aware of that."

Harry smiled. "And jellyfish don't have hearts or brains. Just sort of float along, doing their thing."

Draco arched a brow. "Much like most of our coworkers."

Harry chuckled, the initial tension easing a little. "Exactly. Also—owls have three eyelids."

Draco gave him a curious look, one that was dangerously close to amused. "Why, exactly, do you know that?"

Harry flushed. "Er... I thought it might be fun. You know, sharing facts."

Draco smirked, resting his chin on one hand. "You've always been an odd one, Potter."

Harry shrugged, feeling a bit ridiculous but also oddly pleased. "I figured, if we ran out of things to talk about, I could, uh, fill the silence with facts."

Draco gave a soft laugh—one of those rare, genuine ones that Harry hadn't heard nearly enough. "Well, that's... endearing, in a strange way."

The waiter arrived with their drinks, and as Draco stirred his tea, he glanced up with a playful glint in his eye. "Got any more facts?"

Harry grinned, leaning back in his seat. "Okay, how about this one—octopuses have three hearts."

"Do they now?" Draco took a sip of his tea, clearly entertained. "Perhaps you and I should each get an extra one. It might make this whole dating thing easier."

Harry felt his heart stumble at Draco's playful tone, and suddenly all the nerves from earlier melted away. Maybe he didn't need to rely on facts to impress Draco. Maybe—just maybe—being himself would be enough.

"Well," Harry said, his voice softening as he met Draco's gaze, "I've only got one heart, but I think it's doing just fine tonight."

Draco's smirk softened into something more sincere, and Harry knew—facts or no facts—this date was going exactly as it should.
