The Tutoring Sessions

Draco Malfoy was good at a lot of things. Potions, spellwork, flying-he was a natural at anything that required precision and control. But when it came to Transfiguration, Draco had always struggled. And now, in their eighth year at Hogwarts, with a mountain of assignments looming over him, Draco had finally admitted to himself that he needed help.

The only problem? The person who had offered to help him was none other than Harry Potter.

Harry had somehow found out about Draco's struggles-likely through Hermione, who knew everyone's academic business-and had casually offered to tutor him. At first, Draco had been insulted. The thought of taking help from Harry Potter was humiliating. But after a particularly disastrous lesson where he had accidentally transfigured his quill into a snake that refused to change back, Draco had grudgingly accepted the offer.

And now, after a few weeks of tutoring sessions, Draco wasn't sure what was more frustrating: Transfiguration or the fact that he couldn't stop staring at Harry during their study sessions.

They met in the library, in a quiet corner far from the usual hustle and bustle. It was their usual spot, a table tucked away near the back where they could work in relative peace. Harry was already there when Draco arrived, sitting with his Transfiguration textbook open in front of him, his glasses slightly askew and his hair as messy as ever.

"Ready?" Harry asked, glancing up with a smile that made Draco's heart skip a beat.

Draco nodded, dropping his bag onto the floor as he sat down across from Harry. "As ready as I'll ever be."

Harry grinned, his green eyes sparkling with amusement. "Don't worry, you're getting better. Last time, you actually managed to turn the quill back into a quill."

Draco rolled his eyes, though he couldn't help the small smile that tugged at his lips. "Yes, well, it took me long enough."

Harry chuckled, flipping through his notes. "Progress is progress, Malfoy."

Draco tried to focus on the lesson, but as Harry started explaining the intricacies of human-to-object transfiguration, Draco's mind began to wander. It wasn't the first time he had gotten distracted during their sessions. In fact, it was becoming a bit of a problem. The more time they spent together, the more Draco found himself paying less attention to the actual work and more attention to Harry.

It was infuriating. Harry wasn't even doing anything special-he was just being his usual self. But somehow, that was enough to make Draco's heart race in a way that it had no business doing. The way Harry's hair fell into his eyes, the way he bit his lip when he was concentrating, the way he smiled whenever Draco made a breakthrough-it all drove Draco mad.

"Malfoy?" Harry's voice cut through Draco's thoughts, and Draco blinked, realizing that he had been staring at Harry's hands for far too long.

"What?" Draco said quickly, trying to cover his tracks.

Harry raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "You alright? You seem... distracted."

Draco cleared his throat, feeling the heat rise to his cheeks. "I'm fine. Just... thinking."

Harry smiled, leaning back in his chair. "Thinking about Transfiguration, I hope?"

"Of course," Draco lied, flipping open his textbook in an attempt to look busy.

Harry chuckled, shaking his head. "Alright, if you say so."

They continued with the lesson, but Draco's mind kept wandering. Every time Harry leaned in to explain something, Draco felt his pulse quicken. Every time their hands brushed as they passed notes back and forth, Draco's breath hitched. It was ridiculous-he was ridiculous-but he couldn't seem to stop it.
