Savior

Lorraine's POV

So it was her.

All this time I've been denying the truth...

Anticipating my brain to work and remembered the full details of it.

I want to remember the blurry face that's long forgotten...

It was all her...

Athena...

She's was my Savior before.

Cassandra Minnie Mouse.

Flashback

I was at school that afternoon, sitting patiently as the sun began to dip lower in the sky, waiting for my parents to come and fetch me.

It was supposed to be an exciting day because we had plans to go out of town right after classes ended.

There I was, seated in the school's waiting shed, surrounded by the quiet hum of other students getting picked up one by one.

I held onto the hope that any moment now, I'd see our familiar car pull up. My heart raced with anticipation.

I was only thirteen years old.

Too young, too innocent, and far too trusting to realize that my parents had forgotten about me.

"Who are you waiting for?" a familiar voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked up to see a young woman standing before me.

Her presence was a welcome distraction from the growing loneliness, and I quickly greeted her with the brightest smile I could muster, jumping up to my feet.

"I'm waiting for Mommy and Daddy, Ate Veronica!" I exclaimed, my voice filled with excitement.

But then something strange happened-her smile faded, and her face became clouded with concern.

Her brows knitted together as if she'd heard something alarming.

Veronica was my cousin, not exactly my favorite one, but still family.

She had always seemed so serious, and we didn't spend much time together.

"But they're traveling out of town..." she murmured softly, her words barely reaching my ears.

I didn't quite understand what she meant, perhaps because I was still caught up in the thrill of the day.

This was the first time my parents had promised to pick me up from school themselves, rather than sending our driver. I couldn't help but cling to the excitement of that simple change.

Before I could say anything else, a voice from a distance called out, grabbing both of our attention.

"Vaness-ay-Vanessa! I mean, Veronica, uuwi na kami ni Athena, mag ingat ka pauwi huh!" The sudden greeting made us both turn our heads toward a tall, fair-skinned woman approaching.

Her long, flowing hair moved gracefully as she walked, and her sense of style caught my eye immediately.

She was striking, someone you couldn't help but notice.

"Alright, take care, Jay, Maureen! Where's Liliana?" Veronica called back, her voice carrying a casual familiarity.

I watched in awe, momentarily mesmerized by her interaction with the woman named Jay.

Jay was beautiful, effortlessly so.

"Liliana went home earlier. Una na kami!" Jay waved with a bright smile, directing her goodbyes at Veronica.
