The Strange thing became conventional

Lorraine's POV

"They don't, stop spitting nonsense."

"They do nga... Maniniwala ka o hahalikan kita?"

"Do it."

I was stunned when she suddenly responded to what I said, her voice cutting through the silence like a blade.

Did I hear that right?

Did Athena really want me to kiss her?

My mind raced, trying to comprehend the gravity of her words.

"Do it. Kiss me." She repeated, her voice soft yet commanding, the weight of her challenge hanging heavily in the air.

She looked at me with her eyes narrowed.

Her words took hold of me, causing my breath to catch in my throat.

It was as if my entire world had come to a halt at that very moment.

I could hear nothing but the thunderous pounding of my heart, as if it were trying to break free from my chest, demanding action.

The sensation was overwhelming, my pulse quickening with every beat.

I blinked several times, trying to steady myself.

Although my face remained a mask of calm, I could feel the heat rising beneath my skin—an undeniable sign that I was blushing furiously.

It was embarrassing how easily she could affect me, but I couldn't help it.

Fuck, tiklop sa'yo Athena.

And then, she spoke again, her voice cutting through my haze of emotions like ice.

"If you kiss me, you won't be able to come near me again—not even within a mile. Go ahead, I dare you." The coldness in her tone sent a shiver down my spine, her words sharp enough to slice through the warmth I had felt moments before.

I couldn't help but pout in response, a mixture of frustration and excitement swirling within me.

Kilig na naging utot pa. Tsk!

Deep inside, a part of me was thrilled by her challenge, my heart racing with anticipation.

But just as quickly as that feeling had emerged, she shattered it with her words, leaving me in a state of confusion and longing.

"I’m telling you, people do change, Athena," I insisted, crossing my arms over my chest.

This is better than not talking at all.

"Just look at Jezreel. She was never the type to be all lovey-dovey, and now she’s practically glued to Ate Samantha."

Athena rolled her eyes, clearly unimpressed.

"That’s not a change, Lorraine. That’s just… circumstance. People adapt, sure, but at their core? They stay the same."

"That’s ridiculous," I huffed, leaning closer to her.

"People change all the time! Love changes people, experience changes people. Even food can change people! You just have to give them a chance." I argued back and pouted, narrowing my eyes as well as I look at her.

"Food?" Athena raised an eyebrow, and her lips twitched in amusement.

"Are you seriously using food as an argument right now?"
