Virat sank onto the edge of the hospital bed, pressing his hands to his face as he tried to steady his breathing. His heart felt like it was carrying the burden of too many emotions.. anger, guilt, frustration, all tangled together.

Minutes later, the door creaked open behind him. Vikas stepped inside hesitantly, his movements slow and deliberate.

"Cheeku" Vikas's voice was low.. but Virat didn’t respond.

Vikas stepped closer, his guilt hanging heavily on his shoulders. He dragged a hand over his face, as though trying to erase the memory of his earlier heated argument with Mahi. The words he’d spoken replayed in his mind.. words he now wished he could take back.

"Cheeku I'm sorry mujhe nahi pata tha.. what relation you guys share.. maine thoda jyada hi bol diya" Vikas finally said.

Still, Virat didn’t speak. He didn’t move. Vikas hesitated for a moment before sitting down beside Virat on the bed.

The silence between them was thick, but he finally broke it, "Cheeku" he began, "I’ll go and apologize to Mahi as well.."

Virat turned to him, his tone gentle but firm. "Bhaiya.. there's no need for you to apologize to him.. because he’ll just take it all on himself and feel guilty.. ki unki wajah se aapke aur mere bich cheezin badal gayi hain.. he’ll overthink this and it’ll make things worse."

Vikas looked at Virat, regret etched on his face. "Cheeku.. I’m sorry again.. Maine gusse mai keh diya wo sab.. I wasn’t thinking clearly."

Virat sighed deeply "Bhaiya bas naa kya sorry sorry bol rahe hoo.. you didn’t know about us... and i should be saying sorry.. I’m really sorry..
I should have told you about me and Ms earlier, but things were complicated."

Vikas nodded "I know.. Mom told me everything."

Virat’s eyes soften slightly at the revelation. Vikas leaned forward, wrapping his arms around his younger brother. It was a hesitant, cautious embrace, but it was enough to make Virat pause.

Slowly.. Virat returned the gesture, his arms folding around Vikas in a silent truce.

"Are you sure about Mahi.. hmm.. I'm not questioning just asking.. Mom told me, he was concerned about your career and you both were distant for a while and now he wants to make everything right.. i can see his desperation ab samjh aaya.. why was he so eager to see you.. par is bar wo commitment dega ki he would not go away??" he asked quietly, his voice laced with concern.

Virat buries his face slightly deeper against Vikas's chest "Bhaiya! he will never leave me again.. not now, not ever.. unko bahut insecurities thi pehle.. he was very tensed about my career.. par ab aisa nahi hain.. I was waiting for the moment he would finally understand, I always knew that once those doubts were gone, he would find his way back to me.. without a second thought."

Vikas smiled softly, he could sense the sincerity in Virat's words and it filled him with relief. He knew Mahi would never leave now.

Vikas felt a protective pride for both of them, Virat his younger brother, who had grown so much in understanding love and his own emotions and Mahi, who had finally let go of his doubts.

"Cheeku.. I’m happy for you" he said, his voice calm yet heartfelt. "And I’ll always be here for you.. you’ll always have me by your side."

Virat let out a shaky breath, feeling a wave of relief crash over him. He had been carrying the weight of secrets and guilt, unsure of how Vikas would react. But hearing his brother’s words, he couldn’t help the small smile that broke through. "Thank you.. Bhaiya!"
