"Mandatory wrist check." Gabrienne said as her figure greeted me in the hallway.
I showed my wrists and smiled forcedly. She smiled back and stamped 3 stars on it, covering my light scars.
"Very good! One day na lang ang you'll be a year clean! Let's celebrate tomorrow, okay? My treat!" she happily uttered and even clung her arms on mine as she told stories about her 5 crushes and some infatuation about someone she doesn't know but remembers the facial features.
Nakaibaba ko na din ang gamit ko at siya naman ay umupo sa tabing armchair as she daydreamed about her one crush.
"Ang landi mo, Yen." I commented jokingly, taking her out of her dream world.
Madrama niyang inilagay ang palad sa dibdib at tumingin sa akin na parang nasaktan sa sinabi ko. "Hey, crush is just pag-hanga! It doesn't mean I love them. Yuck! Big, big, big, NO!" she denied jokingly.
"Hala ka, baka magaya ka kay Gio niyan. Mali-mali definition mo ng crush." I chuckled and looked around. "Speaking of that boy, himala at wala siya dito?"
Gabrienne gave me her are-you-serious-look. "You didn't see him at the entrance?" she asked and i shook my head.
My school life went on like normal. Always trying to answer everything. The pressure was automatically set into the on button whenever the teachers switched subjects.
After school, bumalik ako sa bahay para maligo at mag-ayos naman para sa dinner mamayang gabi kasama ang parents ni Sian. 3pm pa lang naman kaya wala pa sina Papa at Mama. I just wore a simple khaki trousers and white t-shirt paired with sandals. Of course I didn't forget to wear the tulip necklace Sian gave me.
After making sure I was ready, I turned my attention to Anastacia. She was sitting on her bed, her big eyes watching me curiously as I picked out her outfit. I chose a cute floral dress for her, the bright colors matching her bubbly personality. To complete her look, I picked out a pair of white doll shoes that she absolutely adored.
"Come here, love," I called her over, holding out the dress for her to see. Her face lit up at the sight of it, and she hurried over to me.
"Pretty, Ate Ysabelle!" she exclaimed, reaching out to touch the fabric. I couldn't help but smile at her excitement.
"Let's get you dressed," I said, helping her into the dress. Once she was dressed, I sat her down and began to braid her hair. She requested an Anna-inspired hairstyle from Frozen 2, a movie she was currently obsessed with.
As I braided her hair, Anastacia sat patiently, humming the tune of her favorite song from the movie. I couldn't help but join in, our voices filling the room with a soft melody.
Once her hair was done, I stepped back to admire my work. Anastacia looked up at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Do I look like Anna, Ate Ysabelle?" she asked, her voice hopeful.
I nodded, unable to stop the smile that spread across my face. "Yes, love. You look just like Anna."
Anastacia's face lit up at my words, and she jumped up to give me a big hug. "Thank you, Ate Ysabelle!" she exclaimed, her voice full of joy.
As I hugged her back, I felt a sense of warmth spread through me. 5pm na kami natapos at saktong text din sakin ni Tita Felize.
