It seemed that the scene was repeating itself again after years.

Hanni quickly darted out of the flower shop, caring little about what Eunchae would think, at this moment a woman she had already rejected was chasing her like in the old days.

"Hanni! Are you really going to keep producing this scene?"  Minji asked in a calm voice as she closed the distance between them with a jog.

She had become more athletic than usual and no longer had that strange shortness of breath she had when she was younger when she ran even a little, Minji had changed but Hanni hadn't.

She had always remained the same cowardly and stupid girl who followed her father's rules so as not to have her bank account closed.

Just a few days ago, she was living with her parents and with lunch ready on the table.

She had spent her life between sloppy studying and absurd parties with her friends.

She had made a mistake, and she was regretting it, but her father had always told her that a man would fill all her shortcomings and desires without even lifting a finger.

She didn't want Minji to become like this, and only support her financially.

After all, she wondered how Minji managed to be rich, she didn't really believe it since Minji had always been a playful and time-wasting person, almost a shameless example of her.

This is why they were friends, because they hated school and loved having fun on the streets.

The hand seemed to connect back to the part where Hanni tried to push away her memories, Minji had always been powerful when it came to grips or handshakes.

Her rough hand gripped Hanni's arm, nearly occupying her forearm.

It almost felt like a dream: Hanni didn't want to relive this same experience and break Minji's heart again.

“I don't care,” Minji said almost as if she understood Hanni's expression.  It had to be some strange expressive telepathy that only Minji understood.

“I swear I could stay like this all day if you don't give me a good reason to let you go,” Minji said immediately after.

She looked so mature and charismatic, with that attractive face and deep voice.

Hanni in comparison was a small person who had little audacity in himself and the only thing she liked to do was make fun of the situations around her.

When she was with Minji she always felt in awe, was that the kind of innocent look Minji gave her?

Or the fact that in this moment Minji had become different from how she left her?

Did she really hope to be able to see her as she had left her?

It would have been a real dream.

Maybe telling the truth would have made things easier.  Stay in this situation of too transparent looks and brazen races.

"Don't make me say it, Minji," Hanni said, closing her eyelids slightly, pleading for the woman to let her go.

Although her mind was on a new arrival point almost pushing her to say what her father forced her to do because of her stupid pranks, but a part of her knew that Minji would not give up anyway and everything she had hoped to  not doing it again would have succeeded: deluding a person she considered precious.

"You'll tell me! I can't turn my head and pretend like nothing happened. I want an answer..." Minji said.

She wasn't entirely wrong, she had just said no to her after her marriage proposal in front of her friend and her new colleague.

“Aren't I everything you wanted?”  Minji said again with an impatient shrug.

Her look, her gaze, her hands, her body, her perfume were everything she had wanted but would never have taken for greed.

Although the woman was her ideal person, she didn't want money to break Minji's feelings.

Hanni didn't like Minji.  It wasn't even her fault that Minji had become like this.

What she was as a teenager was already amazing, infect all she saw was a fancy jacket and an expensive watch.

All she saw was not the reality she wanted in a person, it was just what her parents had imposed on her when they told her to get them a reliable and wealthy person to introduce to her family.

"You're everything my father wants," Hanni replied.

The grip on Hanni's arm tightened.

The heat she had felt turned to cold.

Minji's teary eyes stared at her as if she had committed murder.

"Tell me what I did wrong... I want to fix it, make you happy" Minji said in a low tone, almost at the point of tears.

She had spent years trying to become what Hanni found in a person she loved, but she had always followed the pattern of Hanni's father, never the one the woman truly loved.  Hanni gestured with her head in denial not to speak anymore.

  Minji's hands slipped from Hanni's.

A shiver passed over her, feeling that she had missed Hanni's presence so much that she was afraid of not being able to hold her anymore.

"I was wrong. You shouldn't change for people, I hate to say it but you shouldn't chase me anymore. We're not teenagers anymore, Minji. This isn't possible..."

"It's not true!"  Minji interrupted angrily as she grabbed Hanni's shoulders.

She couldn't hear such a thing.  Something heavy coalesced in her heart, it was warm but burning with desire.

She hated being told what to do, but Hanni had always been the only person who listened.

Hearing those words made her mind empty and her anger vomit.

The wind passed through Minji's hair almost giving that memory of how they were teenagers.

When she saw Minji for the last time, she felt the wind caress her face and Minji's hair flutter like waves pointing to the right.

Her tenacious eyes were wet, almost demanding to be heard.

"I won't change my love because you don't accept it. I will change you so that you can accept my love," Minji said.

The wind stopped.

Minji leaned in, gently placing her lips on Hanni's cheek.

"For you, I can even wait until I die" she concluded dragging her palm under her eyes removing those copious tears from her face.

She turned and walked away, leaving Hanni alone in her thoughts.

The heat was starting to emerge from the atmosphere again like a cloud of sunshine.

Her eyes felt heavy and his hands trembled.

  Was she crying?

She wanted to feel her wet skin but her hands seemed stuck at his sides.  Heartbreaking sobs escaped from both lips as she placed her tears between the avenues.

His shoulders slumped and her head went elsewhere.  She returned home without even telling Danielle.  Her grandmother was out running errands.

She was alone even in this eventful life, she rejected everyone in any situation.

The people she considered dear seemed like nothing at this moment, her heart had always been so cold towards everyone.

She had no choice but to remain alone in this cold world, although the warmth she craved had just left announcing its determination.
