The fullness of the September winds had made itself felt early.

It was the fifth of September and Hanni's father had arranged a date for her with a son of a friend of his.

As her father had described him from the phone call, he must have been a handsome young man with strong ambition and excellent taste.

His name was Liam.  He only had an American name but his appearance was that of a certified Korean.  The names had been a creative choice, and Hanni already felt that she wouldn't like the name Liam.  Sometimes her father tells the opposite about the person she was supposed to meet, the only true thing they had was money.

Tonight she would meet the fateful Liam.

Danielle suggested that she dress up although Hanni wanted to go to the appointment in a sweatsuit since she wanted to make things as quick as possible, but she handed her a white dress with the back visible only from the lower part of the shoulders up, addressing what was  a one-piece dress with a bateau neckline.  It was white from head to toe, and pops of beige covered the sleeves and trim of the skirt.

She had some transparent stockings with her for fear of catching cold, and finally she put on white heels that matched both her dress and her beige bag.

Well if she had to attract a man she wanted to marry that was great, but Liam was the man she wanted to ignore and scare.

But as soon as she saw him all alone with a hand on the table and an English-style checkered jacket, she wanted to console him and chase him away immediately afterwards.

Anyone who would have seen him from afar would have said that the man was an introvert or an antisocial, but as soon as she approached him he transformed like a time bomb.

Hanni couldn't even introduce herself before she immediately started talking about her private life and her thousand hobbies.

Work wasn't for him and his father paid for everything.  He lived in an apartment near the center of Seoul and worked in an unfamiliar company to get some experience before turning his attention to the family business, although his father thought he was good for nothing.

He joined this company because his father was a friend of the boss, they had known each other for years given that the boss had invested in the company as it was in the modernization phase.

She asked who the boss was but he didn't answer but started talking about dishes and how the food was delicious in this restaurant.

He must have been familiar to the waiters because he felt like he knew them.  He ordered several dishes with obvious presumption as if the dishes brought to the tables had been made by him in person.

“I have had the opportunity to meet several celebrities, thanks to my image,” he said with a raise of his eyebrows and a happy smile from his own words.

He could say all he could, Hanni wasn't listening.  She preferred the other boy that her father had introduced her to two months ago: he had been a gentleman but his appearance had turned everything off, in the end Hanni advised him to be friends so as not to literally destroy what they had established that evening.

But with this individual in front of her, it was difficult to do the same thing.

He was still talking, who knows what?

It was so boring that she only heard noises and the voices of the people near them getting louder.

His mouth opened and closed rhythmically as if he were doing some kind of rap.
