Minji was in the office with one hand on some papers to review and in the other hand she had the phone next to her ear.
It was her usual work phone that rang non-stop for new offers of collaboration.
These days everything was busier than usual and even the employees were more confused than usual.
Maybe it was the cold air that made the brain freeze.
Minji kept her teeth clenched for a while longer believing that the storm would pass quickly as always.
"Miss Kim, a phone call for you" said her secretary Hyein entering the office without even knocking.
Well, honestly Hyein had almost gotten used to doing things without even asking permission from her boss, they had known each other for so long that by now she even knew where she lived.
"Don't you see that I'm busy, Hyein" said Minji taking a look at the woman and then at her documents almost giving her that clarity that now she couldn't answer other calls.
"Miss Kim is unavailable now... Can you kindly give me your last name for calling you later when Miss Kim will be able to answer" Hyein said slowly walking out of the room, "Okay, Miss Pham then..."
"PHAM!" Minji shouted getting up from her chair and running towards Hyein.
She grabbed the phone in her hand and answered her call with a smile plastered on her face.
"Hanni.." Minji said casually when her heart was beating a mile a minute.
Hyein walked out of the office with a flirtatious smile on her lips.
Minji continued walking towards her chair as if nothing had happened.
"Why did you call me? Is there something wrong?" Minji asked.
Honestly, Minji couldn't hear Hanni's voice on the phone, she was always physically visible and now she heard something absurd.
Hanni was so precious that for Her not having her there made her anxious.
"I heard from my father that you called for an appointment," Hanni said calmly.
Maybe she was getting used to her gratuitous persecution.
"I'm sorry, but I already told you why," Minji said, scratching her neck slightly as if Hanni could see her nervousness at this moment.
A silence changed in the call.
Minji for the first time could hear the clicking of the coffee machine closing on the table near the sofas.
She felt like she was suffocating and Hanni didn't want to give her the air to do so.
"Don't be... I think I'll accept your marriage proposal," she said after a long silence.
Minji blinked again and again confused.
She didn't expect that this call would change her life.
She felt her heart explode and her insides fall out of her body.
This was really what her heart felt when she knew that the person she loved was agreeing to marry her.
She wanted to scream but she was in her office and her subordinates will believe that a murder had happened.
Minji couldn't express how grateful she was to Hyein for entering the office without having to knock and with an air of ease.
Oh, how she loved her heart right now.
