Minji wondered if she had done the right thing by accepting Hanni's invitation to come with her to the living room to watch a movie.
Honestly Minji told her that they had a movie theater but Hanni insisted on staying in the living room as she called it more or less anything else.
Hanni was kind to her but always with that prejudiced side as if she wanted to give Minji a chance but keeping the negativity and rejection close to her.
Minji didn't let herself be turned off so easily though: she had spent her whole life looking for Hanni and letting her run away so easily would have been foolish.
"I've never had time to watch a movie" Minji said sitting down on the couch.
Hanni followed Minji sitting next to her.
Minji seemed distant even though she had wanted this love herself.
Maybe she still couldn't believe what she had just had.
Minji was there with one hand on the arm of the couch and the other hand on her shaking leg. Hanni tried to get closer by lightly touching their shoulders but at the mere touch Minji seemed to die so she limited herself to that.
"Why?" Hanni asked with a smile as she took the remote control in front of her placed in plain sight on the glass table.
"I've always been busy with work and the night is the only resource for me to recharge again" replied Minji returning the smile.
That sweet honeyed smile that made Hanni's soul shake a little.
"Then try to get used to it... Because we'll see a lot of them" said Hanni choosing one of the many films.
She allowed the button but immediately after Minji took the phone again and paused it.
"Hanni, I love you" said Minji without scruples.
Hanni nodded knowing the answer for a while, "I know, Minji" she replied trying to grab the remote control again.
Minji moved her hand away with a subtle and delicate movement on her wrist.
"I have a strong urge to kiss you" said Minji.
Minji's curved lips showed her sense of disgust in controlling herself.
Minji had always been patient and never strangely insistent, she understood when it was time to remain silent and distant, and when it was time to hug and kiss with those soft lips of hers.
Hanni understood that Minji's sense of logic about her emotions was strong and that she was able to keep her desire to reject the whole situation at bay, but when Minji appeared near her, with those sweet eyes and that smile that would melt her heart, Hanni could do nothing but stand there with her hands in her pockets hoping that what she had in mind would come true even though her stupid mind told her to do something else.
Of course she didn't love Minji, but there was this sort of physical attraction that she felt immensely towards her, but honestly who wouldn't have that?
Minji was physically a wonder to behold.
She wondered how many women had torn their hair out in anger when Minji rejected them for her immense love for her.
But all that her words had expressed, they got without action.
Instead her lips returned to normal, bringing her body with composure against the sofa.
"But a kiss without love, is a kiss like any other," Minji said in a soft whisper, turning her head in the opposite direction to where Hanni was.
Maybe it was the sense of shame she had suddenly felt when she had told her that she wanted to kiss her, or it was that tinge of embarrassment for having said it, or a sense of defeat for having realized how different their feelings and thoughts were.
