Hanni, Danielle and the grandmother were sitting around the table enjoying the dishes prepared after a long day of organizing some curriculum and boxes to empty.
"It would be nice if you took the job at the flower shop," the older lady said, raising her chopsticks towards the two who were right in front of her.
She had a mouthful of food in her mouth, she wanted to look serious but the two women couldn't take her seriously with that expression on her face.
"It's nearby," she commented after a while as she put more food on her plate.
Her grandmother wasn't entirely wrong, the flower shop was nearby and the type of experience could have been minimal.
"Jimin was helpful to us" Danielle said nodding understandingly at the same two words while also living with the older lady.
"The girlfriend isn't bad either, she's just grumpy with people she doesn't know... But she's a treasure" the elderly lady said after a few seconds, offering a small smile to the two having heard the little story that had happened to them with Minjeong.
Danielle nodded understanding that it had only been a moment of embarrassment.
Honestly, the two women were in complete difficulty finding their ideal job.
She would have liked to open the shop straight away but there was never enough money just to buy it, if they only had the shop it wouldn't have solved their problems.
They just had to wait.
In the meantime they remained thoughtful and confident about their choice to move here, the grandmother was really kind and very joking. She cooked good meals and knew how to help in her own way.
Danielle really appreciated the help she was giving her and also the fact that she didn't look at her awkwardly but rather treated her like a second granddaughter.
Being here alone all these years had made her a little open to everything.
"Now that I think about it, an architect should arrive later..." the grandmother said, thinking aloud.
Hanni confusedly lowered her chopsticks and poured some water into her glass, "Why?" she asked after taking a sip.
Grandma shrugged and replied "I wanted to renovate this house... But I don't know if I'll actually do it."
Danielle widened her eyes in surprise at the new news, "But ma'am, this house is so beautiful just the way it is," Danielle said, slamming her hands on the table, torn by the lady's words.
The grandmother wrinkled her nose and nodded "You're not entirely wrong... I asked for this furniture" she said as she caressed the table on which they ate.
The house was of a very old rustic character but with touches of modernity through the electronic appliances and tasteful paintings.
The things although they were old, they were functional like the new ones.
It could have been some little age crisis of the grandmother, but Hanni didn't think it was the case.
"Anyway, you could ask the architect for some work. She knows a lot of people, as far as I understand," said the grandmother, pointing to the two as if it was something they would have to do.
After this advice, the grandmother got up from the table and went to lie down in her room on her bed, saying that they would have to clean everything as soon as they were finished.
Hanni sighed rolling her eyes as Danielle already got ready to work clearing the table. Hanni wondered if this should be her future job.
