“We were invited to the neighborhood party hosted by Jimin and Minjeong!” Danielle shouted joyfully as she brought the fateful invitation that had remained in the mailbox all day, seeing as the two women had been at the flower shop and the grandmother had stayed to sleep and cook without hearing the intercom knock.
In the end the two women, as well as Jimin and Minjeong, had given up: when they had to do something like this they left the invitation in the mailbox since Mrs. Pham emptied it every Friday.
In this case Danielle had checked the mailbox for fun and had seen something white pop out. She had the invitation in her hand, raising it and kissing it as if it were her paycheck.
“See if you were invited or it's just for grandma,” Hanni said, stretching her arms out on the table and keeping her head on them.
She was dying of sleep.
Yesterday her father had called her because Saturday's dinner had gone badly. He had tragically scolded her by setting her up on another date with someone else next week.
Danielle carefully unwrapped the note and also read the back, noticing three names. She threw the decorative paper on Hanni almost annoyed by the boring atmosphere the woman was creating again.
"We've been invited," she said happily, jumping like a rabbit.
The grandmother who was near the stove smiled "We should buy them something, it's a party hosted by them" she said as soon as she saw that the invitation had Happy Day written on it.
Danielle hadn't even noticed, but honestly there wasn't anything written on it that was shiny enough to catch her attention.
It could have been some job promotion since Minjeong worked as a teacher, or some opening of a private office by Jimin who was an established veterinarian in the clinic.
But instead, as the situation was unfolding, it was just a classic day to share with the neighbors.
Mrs. Pham as soon as she entered the kitchen to see the note said without hesitation "Oh it's definitely Jimin's idea! That woman loves other people's company, she always tries to give Minjeong opportunities to talk a bit since she's a bit introverted."
Mrs. Pham had already gone to the two women five times but had always said, through Jimin's words, that the party was nothing more than a meeting to socialize.
"I won't get close to Minjeong! That woman puts pressure on me," Hanni said, throwing her head on the table, almost giving a reason for her future absence.
Mrs. Pham approached her, slapping her towards the exposed back of her neck. Hanni gasped in pain while cursing.
"Don't say something like that again, that woman is so kind. You're the obnoxious one, look at that long face you have, you're ruining the atmosphere" said the lady getting a nod of confirmation from Danielle who had looked at the scene with a lot of interest and above all a smile on his lips.

"You come!" Jimin said as she opened the door to her house.
She was dressed in a pair of blue trousers and a white shirt that was tucked inside the same trousers and where a black belt traced the division between the two clothes.
She was dressed casually and had some kind of tongs in her hands, she must have been busy at the grill.
Danielle handed the gift to Jimin and she gladly accepted it, letting her inside, saying that Mrs. Pham already knew the way to the house's garden.
