"Keep one leg in front of the other. Keep your head above water."

Cinderpaw heard her mentor's mew as she was swimming in the lake. She followed Dawnfur's instructions and kept her head above water and one leg in front of the other, and she was swimming like a pro.

"I'm doing it!" She cried out. "I'm swimming!"

"Congratulations, Cinderpaw," mewed Dawnfur. "See if you can go underwater."

Cinderpaw nodded and dived down. She held her breath as she looked from side to side. There were fish. Lots of them. But even more terrifyingly, there were two cats. One was being shredded by a Badger. Another was drowning.

But we're in the water! How could I...

And then she paused. She understood.

It was the cats she was named after! Cinderpelt and Cinderheart! Cinderpaw stiffened, and struggled to put one paw in front of the other as they spoke:

"Five cats, one from each clan, will go on a journey of self-discovery. They will find a sixth, lost and unsure, and help this clan find their own way home."

Cinderpaw froze. What could this mean? Could it be that I-

"Cinderpaw!" Teeth met her scruff as someone dragged her upwards towards the shore. "What in the name of StarClan are you doing?!"

"Uh- I - I ..." Cinderpaw stammered. "I saw Cinderpelt and Cinderheart!" She blurted out. "Two ThunderClan cats?" asked Dawnfur in shock. "What did they say to you?"

"They said: Five cats, one from each clan, will go on a journey of self-discovery. They will find a sixth, lost and unsure, and help this clan find their own way home." explained Cinderpaw.

Dawnfur seemed to be repeating it, but she did so quietly that Cinderpaw didn't quite get it. "We need to get back to camp. I'll report this to Lakestar." She murmured, turned around, and trotted back to the lake entrance.

Cinderpaw glanced back around her. She saw Cinderpelt and Cinderheart fading into the stars.

Am I part of a prophecy?
