Luckypaw stalked out of the apprentices' den with Shinepaw by his side. When looking around, he saw Star happily talking with Nightpaw about whatever she-cats talk about when they're alone.

"You think Nightpaw told her?" asked Shinepaw.

"I'm sure she didn't. It's Cindertail I don't trust around her." Luckypaw hissed.

He saw the medicine cat apprentices staggered out of the den together, with Straywhisker following them. We'll have to leave soon... and we'll have to tell Star quickly. StarClan, EndlessHuntingClan— whoever you are up there, give us a sign!

"Hawkpaw!" He yowled when seeing his brother. Hawkpaw looked at him and bounded up to him.

"Hey, Luckypaw. What's up?" asked Hawkpaw.

"Did you get a sign from StarClan or the EndlessHuntingClan?" asked Luckypaw curiously.

Hawkpaw sighed. "I did, and I don't like it. Luckypaw, one of the RushingWaterClan cats are a Lake Clan cat."

"I know who it is," Luckypaw mewed. "It's Star Shines Before Sunrise."

"Do the others know?"

"Yes. What about the other medicine cat apprentices?"

"They know."

Luckypaw turned to stare at Star, who was following a cat that he assumed to be her mentor right down the mountains.

"When do we tell her?" asked Hawkpaw.

"We agreed to let her figure it out herself." Luckypaw meowed.

"Alright. I'll tell Rainpaw, Pinepaw and Jaypaw." Hawkpaw said, bounding off towards the other medicine cat apprentices.

"Hey, you! SkyClan cat!"

Luckypaw turned to meet a long haired tortoiseshell tom with a Fox red tail tip. "Me?"

"Yes, you! Mountainstar wants to speak with you and the other clan cats. Not the extra ones though!"

Luckypaw nodded, and headed for Mountainstar's cave. He took his place next to Nightpaw, his eyes glittering with curiosity and ears ready to hear the gossip.

"What gossip do you think the RushingWaterClan cats have come across this time? Do you think Mountainstar knows about Star?" asked Nightpaw, whispering in his ear.

"Probably not, but we shouldn't jump to conclusions," Luckypaw said. "I don't think Mountainstar knows that one of her own apprentices, Star specifically, is not a-"

"Cats from RiverClan, ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, and SkyClan. The RiverClan warrior says you all came here because of a prophecy involving a sixth clan." meowed Mountainstar.

"It's true," mewed Redpaw. "What is the sixth clan?"

"SnowClan. Us and RogueClan are familiar with them. Cats with pelts as white as snow once came here to beg for a home from us and RogueClan. They took the snowy plains left from here." meowed Mountainstar.

"Mountainstar, left from here is an abandoned wasteland..." Nightpaw mewed quietly. "I saw it while exploring the territory."

"It used to be a place where cats who enjoyed snow would thrive. Some of our own cats, like Fish for example, loved to roll around in the snow. One day, however, RogueClan decided to chase them out. We've never seen them since." explained Mountainstar.

"Now we know what to look for. Thanks, Mountainstar." meowed Cindertail.

"You're welcome, Cindertail and apprentices. Before you go, I must tell you something." Mountainstar stated.

Luckypaw and Nightpaw exchanged glances. Her's was smug, and his was annoyed. "Told you..." Nightpaw whispered.

"A tom named Rock came to me in my dream one night. He said one of my apprentices, Star Shines Before Sunrise, will go with outsiders to fulfill her destiny. He specifically said, 'Your Star will fade if she stays here, but elsewhere, she will shine as bright as the EndlessHuntingClan in Silverpelt.' Will you bring Star with you on your journey? We can spare the apprentice, and I feel that if I don't let her, she'll be miserable, and go to NoStarsClan..." explained Mountainstar.

Luckypaw guessed NoStarsClan was an equivalent to the Dark Forest. But why is Mountainstar so desperate to help Star fulfill her destiny?

"Why do you care about Star so much?" Looks like Shinepaw can read minds now.

"She's my little sister. Her adoptive mother, Tallfrost, is my mother." Mountainstar answered. "Please?"

"We don't know how to tell her..." murmured Redpaw. "She seems so happy here... maybe daydreams about the Clans a bit... but... it'd break her heart to have to leave. Her and her mentor get along so well, and I can't imagine breaking them apart..."

Luckypaw sighed, remembering his own mentor Flypelt. Being separated was like losing his tail. Flypelt was like an idol to him. Luckypaw did everything he asked, cause Flypelt saved his life from a monster when he was a kit.

"I'll discuss this with Brightfeather," mewed Mountainstar. "You take care of Star. Now, who's telling her?"

"I am," Nightpaw volunteered. Luckypaw looked at her in shock, and wondered if she knew what she was doing. "I've bonded most with her. I should be able to tell her."

"Very good. Now, go off, Nightpaw. I've assigned the rest of you mentors. Except for you, Redpaw. Me, Straywhisker, and Jaypaw will take you on a personal tour around the mountains and show you all kinds of different herbs." mewed Mountainstar.

Luckypaw backed up to give Redpaw a shove and to whisper in his ear, "Lucky!"

"Now, lake clan cats, you are dismissed." Mountainstar gave a twitch of her tail and they all dispersed to talk with their clanmates.

Luckypaw muttered a wish of good luck to Nightpaw and she whispered, "Thanks, I think I'll need it."
