Shinepaw bounded up the clearing towards his mentor, clearly unable to contain his excitement. "So what are we going to do today? Are we going to get into trouble? Steal from another clan's territory?"

"No and certainly not." hissed Brambletail. "I'm showing you around the territory." Shinepaw's pelt prickled with excitement as his smile became brighter. "Really!? Around the territory?! That's amazing!"

Brambletail purred. "I think I'm going to have a fun time mentoring you with that positive attitude." She stated, sending him a smile. "What are we going to do first? Gather moss? I could gather moss for the elders, queens, and kits!"

Before Brambletail could reply, Shinepaw bounded off towards a field. He excitedly got the moss and raced back towards Brambletail. Brambletail's jaw was opened. "That's enough moss to give both elders and kits bedding and water!"

Shinepaw nodded. "Maybe you'll become a warrior faster than the others," she murmured. "You have the right mind. You follow orders before they're even given. The other apprentices could take notes."

Shinepaw twitched his whiskers in amusement, seeing the other apprentices Swiftpaw and Runningpaw growling and scowling at his warrior ceremony.

"Come on. Let's head back, Shinepaw. You can brag all about it to Swiftpaw and Runningpaw back in the camp."

Brambletail began trotting back to the camp, and Shinepaw bounded after her. But the young apprentice heard a shadowy voice in the back of his mind say:

"Five cats... one from each clan... go on a journey of self-discovery... they will find a sixth... lost and unsure... and help this clan find their way home..."

Shinepaw's ear twitched. I must be hearing things. If you were to send a prophecy, StarClan, why not tell the medicine cat or leader and tell an inexperienced apprentice instead.
