Shinepaw brushed pelts with Luckypaw as they snuck out of the tunnels into the WindClan border. He felt the wind in his whiskers and pelt. How could any cat seem to live being trapped under trees, water, mountains and swamps?

They reached the end of the ShadowClan border. Yet, Shinepaw could feel something was off as he smelt a ShadowClan cat. Nightpaw also smelt it, and froze to the spot.

If any cat caught them, they would be dead for. Rapidstar would send them all off, one piece at a time, and they would never be able to do it again.

A ShadowClan tom popped out. He was an apprentice; bright orange with splotches on his body.

"Nightpaw! Pinepaw!" He yowled.

"Daypaw!" She meowed. "What are you doing here!?"

"I followed you and Pinepaw. I heard Pinepaw's yowls of protest, and I also heard you." Daypaw paused as Nightpaw shoved Pinepaw and then he continued. "I followed your scents to the tunnels between our clans. I saw you with other clan apprentices. Why??"

"Because we have to go, Daypaw," hissed Nightpaw. "There's a sixth clan who needs our help. You heard the stories of Firestar and SkyClan. We have to go, or StarClan will be angry."

"But... why do you have to go?" Daypaw wailed. "Why can't you stay with your clan? What about Shrewfall? What will she think?" He hissed.

"I...I— I'm sorry. But I have to go. How would you feel if ShadowClan was endangered, and no cat came a long way to save us?" meowed Nightpaw.

"Nightpaw, we're burning daylight! It's take him, leave him, or kill him!" hissed Cindertail.

"I'd like to be with you." Daypaw mewed as Nightpaw turned to him. "You know how I feel about you, Nightpaw. It'll tear my heart out if you leave without me."

"Oooooh~" snickered Shinepaw. Nightpaw turned around gave him a cuff around the ear, claws unsheathed, earning a yowl from him.

"You deserve that, you fox-hearted FOOL." She spat and turned around to her clanmate. "Sure, you can come. If the others allow you..." she meowed the last three words sternly, as if she was going to feed them to the foxes.

Shinepaw sent her a challenging glare, Redpaw lashed his tail side to side, Cindertail's pelt bristled, and Luckypaw pinned his ears against his head.

"Shinepaw!"

Shinepaw froze. "Sunpaw!?" He yowled.

"What in StarClan's name are you doing with these cats?" She mewled. "Have ShadowClan, RiverClan, SkyClan, and ThunderClan teamed up on us and decided to capture you?"

"No! You see, a medicine cat apprentice is hardly likely to capture someone!" He hissed, gesturing his tail towards Rainpaw, Redpaw, Hawkpaw and Pinepaw.

"Well, then where are you going with these fox-hearted cats?" hissed Sunpaw furiously.

"I have to go on a journey," meowed Shinepaw. "To find a sixth clan. I'm sorry, Sunpaw. I don't know how long I'll be gone. Please just don't tell Brambletail or Mudstar of what I'm doing. Especially not your mentor."

"I won't be there to tell them," mewed Sunpaw. "Because I'm going with you."

"What!?" He yowled.

"If you don't let me," mewled Sunpaw. "I'll tell the entire clan. Heck, I'll call a meeting about it. Your plan will be foiled."

"Okay, okay!" yowled Luckypaw, rolling his eyes. "You'll come. If you think about running to the WindClan camp and telling everyone, you're crowfood."

"Great." Sunpaw sent Luckypaw a challenging glare. "Glad to be doing business with you."

"The feeling isn't mutual." hissed Luckypaw.

"Guys! We're burning daylight!"  Redpaw repeated Cindertail's earlier thought. "We need to go. The sixth clan could be dying as we speak."

"Fine!" yowled Nightpaw. "Don't get your whiskers in a bunch."

As they continued, Shinepaw caught Redpaw gaze at the ThunderClan territory. It was sad, Shinepaw thought. They all had their clanmates, well, all except Redpaw. This was going to be one heck of a journey.

Soon, Redpaw caught up with them, lying and saying he thought he smelt a thrush, and they carried on.
