Everything's so loud!

Every bone in Shinepaw's body was shaking as the noise of Twolegplace crossed his ears. Clearly Daypaw thought the same thing and put his tail over his ears.

"This is mouse-brained! We shouldn't have to go in that!" Daypaw yowled.

"Y'know what, screw SnowClan!" snarled Shinepaw. "This is rabbit-brained! I'm not going in that! Not if StarClan themselves came and begged me!"

"There must be another way," Redpaw was clearly agreeing with him and Daypaw. "Maybe around the mountains?"

"We have a crippled cat and a blind cat," Cindertail rolled her eyes. "I don't think either of them are willing to go across that."

Rainpaw quickly shook his head, and Pinepaw soon followed.

"I think we must go through Twolegplace," Hawkpaw shivered. "The thunderous... frightening... huge... Twolegplace."

It was true, this Twolegplace was bigger than most. They had nests that go up as high as clouds, and their paths were crazy and uncoordinated like a clan's would be. Their monsters rode these paths with twolegs in their bellies, some louder and bigger than others.

Getting into Twolegplace was frightening enough. DreamClan trekked all the way down from their former place on the slope and it was hard getting around all of the Twolegs. Monsters crowded the territory and Twoleg kits were bounding along the sidewalk.

Every cat's eyes darted around the Twolegplace, their eyes wide with fear. There were strange sounds that they had never heard before; strange things they'd never seen before.

A kittypet was playing with a dog! How stupid was that kittypet?! Also, another kittypet was playing with a bird like it was a clanmate and not prey. It didn't even catch the bird.

"Kittypets are weird," Sunpaw whispered into Shinepaw's ear. He purred with agreement, speeches to say any words.

They didn't even make it halfway through Twolegplace before a Twoleg kit came up to them. It meowed something that Shinepaw didn't understand. Every hair on his pelt stood on end as the Twoleg kit went to reach its paw over to them.

Suddenly, a twoleg queen came over to it and grabbed it. The twoleg kit yowled something in protest. Then the queen saw them and bent down to their level, and mewed something to her kit.

The queen grabbed something that looked like a fresh kill pile without the rocks and poured something into it. It smelt like the milk you would drink from your mother as a newborn kit. The queen grabbed several fresh kill piles and poured the white stuff into each one.

"Is it... safe to eat?" asked Redpaw, analyzing his as the queen poured it in.

"The queen's getting something else," Shinepaw hissed as the queen left.

The queen came back with a whole fresh kill pile worth of...something. She grabbed another pile and poured the something into it. It looked slimy and gross, but Shinepaw guessed that's what kittypets eat in Twolegplace.

"Ew! Is this kittypet prey? No thanks!" Nightpaw snarled.

"This might be the last fresh-kill we'll have in a while, Nightpaw," Daypaw reminded her. "Eat it."

Nightpaw sighed, and they all slowly ate the disgusting stuff. It was slimy and gross just as Shinepaw predicted. It obviously wouldn't get off of his tastebuds any time soon. It was no juicy mouse, that was for sure.

Shinepaw reluctantly swallowed the last bit of Twoleg food. The queen looked pleased, grabbed her kit, and they walked off together.

"Yuck! How can kittypets eat that stuff!?" hissed Nightpaw, grabbing the pile and throwing it away.
