It's the night.
Cindertail's heart lurched as she woke up in the warriors' den. She saw the half moon rise. She looked around as she stretched whil getting up.
She snuck out the warriors' den and stalked out to the entrance of the camp. She was about to go, when...
"What in StarClan's name are you doing, Cindertail!?"
She let out a yowl of fear. Rainpaw was right behind her, his mentor Grayheart nowhere to be found. "I was TOTALLY not going to sneak out of camp or anything! No, No, No... Certainly not." She lied casually.
"Nope, No, you've tried that on me when we were kits— bought it once, ain't gonna happen again." hissed Rainpaw.
She sighed. "I'm leaving RiverClan territory," Her voice shook. "I'm going on a journey with other clan apprentices. I... don't know how long I'm going to be gone. It's because of a prophecy saying we have to find a sixth clan."
"Prophecy!? Sixth clan!?" yowled Rainpaw. Then he paused. "I'm going with you."
"What!?" hissed Cindertail.
"You'll need a medicine cat apprentice on the journey."
"We already have one! Redpaw!"
"Maybe, I just want to protect you!" Rainpaw burst out. "I feel so weak ever since the accident. I want to prove myself. Please, Cindertail— For StarClan's sake, let me come with you. Or I'll come sneak out of the camp without you knowing."
"Fine!" She spat. "But don't blame me when we get back and you get a punishment from Grayheart!"
"It'll be worth it," Rainpaw promised.
"Let's go. We're meeting in the tunnels between WindClan and ThunderClan." She told her brother.
For countless heartbeats, she and Rainpaw, side by side, trotted/limped towards the WindClan border. Narrowly avoiding a WindClan patrol by covering themselves in mud to hide their scent, they managed to reach the tunnels.
"Hey, Cindertail! We've been waiting for you...two?" meowed Luckypaw. "Who in StarClan's name is that?"
"Rainpaw!" Redpaw blurted out. "So nice to see you."
"Nice to see you too, Redpaw. How's the prey running in your clans?" asked Rainpaw.
"Prey's running well... so far." Redpaw hissed at Shinepaw, who hissed back at him.
"By the way, Luckypaw, and Nightpaw for that matter, who are your friends?" Cindertail mewed, pointing her tail towards the two medicine cat apprentices.
"My name's Hawkpaw. Luckypaw's brother." mewed Hawkpaw.
"And my name's Pinepaw." The blind one answered. "Nightpaw's cousin."
"Are we seriously supposed to be lifting dead weight? I mean, crippled medicine cats and blind medicine cats are just Cinderpelt and Jayfeather all over again." hissed Shinepaw.
"Oh, you've already joined us, buddy," Hawkpaw shoved him. "Now you've got to deal with us."
Shinepaw hissed furiously.
"Where's our ticket out of here?" Cindertail asked.
"There's a tunnel that leads to the Moonpool," mewed Redpaw simply. "We'll go through there."
They all went through the tunnel, but something told Cindertail that leaving her clan behind was a bad idea all along.
