"Alright, are we all ready to leave?"
It had been sunrises since they first came to the mountains. Cindertail's fur was beginning to bristle at the thought of staying here forever and never finding SnowClan or going back home.
Mountainstar announced to the clan that Star would be accompanying them on their journey. They understood, so now Fish, Dark, Night, and Roar are saying heartwarming goodbyes to her. Cindertail's heart sank at their friendship, remembering her and Stonemist's.
"Bye, Star," said Fish.
"We'll miss you." meowed Dark.
"I'll miss you too!" Star yowled. "You guys have been my best friends since forever! I'll never forget any of you. I'll tell the Clan all about you-especially my brothers!"
"You better, or I'll hunt you down like prey." Roar teased. They all huddled with Star in one last goodbye. Soon, Star went down to meet them.
"I'm ready to leave now," Star sighed.
"Wait," Mountainstar intersected. "You need a clan Apprentice name."
"I forgot! Ugh!" Star groaned.
"How about... Rushingpaw? In memory of us?" Dark suggested.
"Of course, I'd love that," Star agreed.
"Rushingpaw! Rushingpaw!" The whole clan yowled. Amongst them all, Tallfrost's was loudest.
"Rushingpaw! Rushingpaw!" Cindertail joined in, and so did the others, all cheering for their new apprentice.
Rushingpaw's fur fluffed up in Pride. "So, when are we leaving to save SnowClan?"
"Right now," Redpaw smiled.
"Bye, Rushingpaw!" Rushingpaw's clan yowled, all hopeful for her future and all proud of her.
They all trotted off away from the mountains. It took a while to get Pinepaw and Rainpaw up, though. She wouldn't leave her brother for anything, no matter how long it took to get him.
It made her think of how much Rushingpaw missed her brothers, Birchkit and Badgerkit, although she never knew about them. Rushingpaw must be eager to get back home to ThunderClan to reunite with them. Cindertail feels the same about RiverClan; even though she won't be going back to meet them any time soon.
She couldn't remember how many moons they'd been away for. It felt like many, but she'd have to ask the others.
They soon reached the peak of the mountain. They could see all territories around the mountains. Beyond lay a populated Twolegplace, scraps of woodland that looks like it had been cut down by Twolegs, and snow.
Cindertail sighed. Looks like they have days and days of travel ahead of them. She yearned to be back in the warriors' den, listening to the sweet sound of falling water colliding with shiny, gray rocks.
Cindertail exchanged a glance with the others. This is it; everything beyond the mountains is foreign land. They've had no traveling herbs to prepare them for the trek, but they have no choice.
"For SnowClan," she whispered, tearing her gaze away from the others. Then, not looking back to the territories, they set out on foreign land.
