It had been a day since Glory had written to her friends, and now they were gathered inside of the audience room, adoring the three dragonets, along with Kinkajou and Fatespeaker. Amber, Firefly and Fern were a week old already and lively, always bouncing around and chasing butterflies.
Firefly and Fern were the only ones with venom, but Amber could control her scales way better. Firefly couldn't change colours and Fern could only change the colours on his wings and ruff. Amber, the oldest, was the most sensible. Firefly and Fern were always play-fighting with each other, rolling around as they wrestled.
"Three moons, you're all so cute!!!" Sunny squealed as she smiled down at Glory's dragonets, who were staring up at her with wide eyes. Fern squeaked, and Glory chuckled and nudged him towards her. Sunny looked up at Glory. "They're adorable!"
This is the most excited I've ever seen Sunny, Glory thought as Sunny bent down to beam at Amber and Firefly. And that's saying something.
"Yeah, they are, aren't they?" Deathbringer said, with a smirk. Fern made an amazingly similar expression, giving her the impression that Deathbringer had a smaller version of himself at his feet. Fern flared his tiny wings as though he was trying to fly.
"Are they eating meat? Or fruit?" Clay asked, as Amber raced over to him and attempted to scale his arm.
"Raowr! Hrarrr!" Firefly said importantly as she bolted over to her sister. Glory smiled at her dragonets' playfulness. She remembered herself when she was around their age, running around in a similar fashion with Clay, Tsunami, Starflight and Sunny.
"They can't really say much, only a few words," She explained with a shrug. "And they like fruit." By now Amber had clambered onto Clay's back and was squealing excitedly.
"I bet they'll be saying full sentences soon," Deathbringer declared proudly. "They're the smartest dragonets in the world, after all." Tsunami snorted.
"Daddy!" Amber squeaked quite accurately. "Graarrrhrror!" Deathbringer smiled and picked her up, much to her delight. She squealed with joy and wriggled around in his talons. She was about as long as his forearm and Glory knew she was not very heavy, so it was easy for Deathbringer to lift her up. He lowered her back onto the ground and let her hop over to Glory and Tsunami.
Tsuami wrinkled her snout. Amber copied her in a hilariously cute way that made Glory have to bite her tongue in order not to burst out laughing. Firefly was playing with Kinkajou, who was only three and not that much older than her. Fern was sticking with Deathbringer. Glory smiled as she gazed lovingly at her dragonets.
