Chapter 7 Is That Really Him?

~one year later~

I need to go out and find a job. I print of my resume to hand out to places.

I apply to HMV, the local music store and Hot Topic.

Later that day I got a call from the music store saying they want to interview me in 2 hours.

I went straight home and hopped in the shower. When I got out I dried my hair and curled it. I put makeup on and found my nicest outfit and put it on. I was ready to go to my interview.

The music store asked me lots of questions about myself and music. They hired me on spot. They asked me if I played any instruments or sang, I told them I play guitar and sing. The boss asked me to sing for him.

He told me I have a beautiful voice and also hired me to sing at the store on weekends.

I started work after my interview and I began to love it quickly. Tomorrow is Saturday and he asked me to sing at the store. I said yes, he told me to take tomorrow off and come play at 2pm.

When I finished work I grabbed supper from the corner store across the street. I ate supper and got stuff ready for tomorrow. I prepared a set list of song that I will perform tomorrow.

The list included 5 of my original songs, one Marianas Trench cover and a cover of I'll Be.

I went to bed early so I'm not tired for tomorrow.

I got well rested for the show, I woke up at 11am. I made myself eggs for breakfast and then went in the shower.

I let my hair dry as I did my makeup and vocal warm ups. I flat iron my hair and put on light wash ripped skinny jeans with a purple shirt and gladiator sandals.

I walked down to the music store and gave my boss the set list I put together. He said it was perfect. He also said there was a surprise coming.

Just before 2pm he introduced me to the crowd who came to watch me. Everyone clapped and cheered when he finished. I came in the room and sat on the stool and thanked everyone for coming. I played two of my original songs. Part way thru the second one I saw someone come in the door. That someone was Josh Ramsay. I got nervous when I saw him. I wasn't sure if I could keep playing or not.

I didn't want to play a cover of his song with him standing there. I played I'll Be instead. I saw him clapping and smiling. I played my other three original songs. When it was time to play my last song I didn't know what to do.

I didn't have any other covers or songs prepared. I had to be brave and do it. I played Beside You. I didn't look up much while I was playing it. When I did I saw he had his phone out, it looked like he was filming it.

Everyone clapped and cheered when I finished the last chord. Josh clapped the loudest. I got up from the stool and put my guitar down. Lots of people came up to me and said I have a beautiful voice. The whole room cleared out except for me, my boss and Josh.

I saw Josh was walking over towards me. I started to get really nervous. He came and stood I front of me and looked in my eyes. I couldn't help but look into his gorgeous blue eyes.

"Hi I'm Josh" he said sticking his hand out.

"I'm Alli" I said while shaking his hand.

"Nice to meet you Alli, your voice is beautiful" He said

"Thanks Josh, so is yours." I replied.

"Are you new to the area?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I actually just moved here yesterday" I responded nervously.
