Chapter 26 Beside You

"It's amazing that a 13 year old girl can handle all that pain" I said while wiping a tear from my eyes.

"I don't know how you do it darling, I'd never be able to handle as a grown man" Josh says while looking at Talia.

"I agree with Josh I probably wouldn't be able to handle it either. I defiantly wouldn't have been able to handle it at 13 years old." I say.

There's a moment of silence. Josh and I aren't sure what to say.

"You guys helped me through it. Every time I have to go through chemo or anything I listen to both of your music and it makes the pain more bearable. I wouldn't be able to do it without you guys. I can't believe I'm actually meet you guys, it's a dream come true. Seeing you two together makes me happy" Talia says while breaking down.

"Aw darling don't cry" Josh says to Talia while pulling her into a hug. When they pull away I step in and hug her. I can feel her tears on my shoulder. When I pull away Josh wipes her tears with the backs of his thumbs.

Talia stops crying and asks us for pictures. I let Talia get some picture alone with Josh. After they take 5 or 10 I do the same thing. After myself and Talia take pictures Josh comes back in for pictures of the 3 of us. After getting pictures Talia goes with our manger to get a shirt for us to sign for her. When she leaves the room her mom pulls josh and I aside and tells us it's the happiest she's been in a long time. Talia comes back in the room with a big smile on her face. Josh and I both sign the custom shirt we made for her with Josh and I on it.


"What's your favourite song Talia?" Josh asks her.

"Beside You" Talia responds.

"You in luck!" Josh says. Talia gets a confused look on my face and I just look at Josh. I quickly catch on to what he's talking about.

"We want you to watch the show from side stage. During my set ill bring out Matt to play acoustically. Ill sing Beside You while you slow dance on stage with Josh" I say looking at Talia then at Josh. He gives me a slight nod then smiles.

"Allison your on in 10" the stage manger says.

"I'm gonna go get changed, Josh will show you your spot. Ill see you after the show" I say while hugging Talia. I give Josh a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving the room. I go back to my dressing room and put on a black dress with a lace top and flowy bottom. I grab my black stilettos with gold spikes on the bottom. I quickly get changed and touch up my hair and makeup. Josh comes back in the room as I'm getting my In-ear monitors set up.

"You look gorgeous as alway" he says whole pulling me into a hug. I pull away and kiss his lips. The stage manger comes back in signalling for me it's time to go on stage. Josh and I follow him to behind the stage.

"Kiss me just once for luck" I sing into Josh ears. He takes the hint and kisses me one last time before the lights go off and people start cheering. I smile back at Josh while running over to give Talia a quick hug.


The music starts playing and a spotlight goes on. People start cheering louder and louder. The spotlight goes off and I sneak onto the stage, no one sees me yet. I begin to tap on my mic causing it to make noises. Then I begin singing my first song as the spotlight turns back on.

"I wanna bring someone special out for this next song" I says into the mic as Josh walks out. "Not exactly who I was meaning but he's part of it" I say looking into the crowd. "Please welcome out Talia Casetelleno!!" I yell into the mic. Talia walks out with a smile on her face. I grab her hand and lead her over to Josh. "This normally isn't a song I'd sing but tonight's different" I say as Matt comes out and begins to play the opening chords to Beside You. Josh grabs Talias hand and puts his other one around her waist as I sing the song.

"Aw thank you guys! I didn't even know you were coming" I say with a smile.
