"Warden Ingo, we've done our part! Is there anythin' else y'need from us?", a Galaxy Team member enquires.
"That is all, gentlemen! I'm immensely grateful for your prompt assistance!"
"Where can I leave the torches that we fixed?", a younger scout asks the adults.
"Take 'em inside Wayward Cave, Waka!"
"In... inside the cave? B-but..."
The boy looks terrified.
"What's goin' on? Y'are tremblin' like a leaf!"
"A-ah! Well, hum... t-the wild Pokémon..."
Ingo quietly takes the torches from his arms.
"Thank you very much, Master Waka! Fret not, I won't require you entering Wayward Cave as I'll take it forward from now on! You may leave the rest of the torches outside, by the bridge. Machamp will carry them inside."
"Really?! M-much appreciated, Warden Ingo!", he sounds relieved.
His supervisor scratches the back of his head and sighs in annoyance.
"Aaah... Fine, y'can go back to the base camp on Heavenward Lookout. Are ya good on your own, kid, or d'you worry a wild Pokémon will eat ya?"
"Sir! I-I'll be okay..."
"Off you go! Don't forget y'are on the next shift for patrolin'!"
"Y-yes, Sir!", he drops the last torch, bows to him and leaves posthaste.
"Sorry 'bout the kid... Who gave me such a scaredy Skitty?"
"There is no need for an apology, Mister Otona! I'm well aware that unfortunately, not everyone gets along with Pokémon. His disquiet is valid."
"I'm gonna tell Kamado this's the last time I'll be takin' on new recruits..."
"Mister Otona, how is Commander Kamado?"
"Same, I guess. The usual. By the way, he did comment on your long absence, th'other day. He said he understood y'got obligations as Warden to the Pearl Clan an' that sacred duty'll always be put first, but not to forget y'also have commitments to the community in Jubilife Village."
"I see... Thank you kindly for passing on his message to me. I won't fail to return to Jubilife Village as soon as my missions as Warden are completed!", Ingo salutes courteously.
"Bah! It's none of my business, really! Just tellin' ya what I heard! Y'do ya, y'know! By the way, you should wind up soon, I can tell your shoulder's hurtin'."
"I appreciate your concern. My last objective is to return the torches to the tunnels. Then, I will call it a day!"
"'Kay, g'bye, Warden Ingo!"
"Farewell!"
As soon as Otona crosses the bridge heading to the base camp, Sneasel climbs down from the tree he was hiding in and meows.
"While I sincerely appreciate your amicable company, Sneasel, I must enquire something from you: for what reason are you crossed with (Name)? You most certainly understand their sadness as you distance yourself from them."
Sneasel is baffled at first. He then lets out an unhappy growl and turns his back to Ingo.
"You won't answer me, Sneasel? Very well! Though, I urge you to communicate candidly with your Wielder about what troubles you upon our reunion this evening."
Sneasel ignores him as he is distracting himself with a pebble that he rolls from right to left.
Communication, hum... Communicating with your Pokémon is proven, however, understanding each other completely is another kettle of Qwilfish. I am cognisant that (Name) and I are experienced Wielders and get along well with our Pokémon compared to the average population, nonetheless.. We are seemingly very proficient at it. It is not solely about body language and feelings.
