You must admit that you expected something different when Ingo said that you would be provided with bedding up here.
After enjoying a warm meal with the Galaxy Team's Expedition scouts, Ingo sent two separate letters to Adaman and Irida to keep them updated. The guards mentioned they would make a report to Commander Kamado and Captain Cyllene.
After Melli took his leave advising he needed to tend to Lord Electrode, Ingo suggested to go get some proper rest.
"Are we borrowing a tent from the guards? B-but does that mean we'll..."
Your face instantly flared up at the thought of sharing a bed.
"Oh, no, we won't be inconveniencing these generous gentlemen any longer! Lady Sneasler will take us to our accommodation for the next days!"
"Oh, very well! Are we staying with Melli, then?"
You assumed at the time that Ingo and Melli had a cabin in the mountains.
"Not at all! Besides, I doubt Warden Melli would allow us to sojourn together. He can be... very peculiar with personal space. Though, I understand his sentiment. I also value my privacy."
"Makes sense... I'm honestly relieved to hear that we won't be living with him!", you shuddered.
"Ah. I can imagine. Please, be assured that we will stay in a cosy, insulated shelter!"
You rejoiced at the thought of sleeping somewhere warm because the temperature had considerably dropped down already.
Lady Sneasler transported you all to an isolated cave located on the mountain's northern slope, right below Mount Coronet.
Since it was dark inside, you requested Cyndaquil's assistance to lighten the way. Ingo took this opportunity to burn a torch left at the entrance.
You heard high-pitched meows in the deepest part of the cave, prompting Lady Sneasler to run in that direction. This is when you saw several kittens cuddling against each other on a paillasse and purring at the sight of the Noble Pokémon.
"Aaw! How cute! They're even smaller than my Sneasel!"
"It looks like they're already weaned and ready for solid food, at this age." commented Ingo.
"I guess Lady Sneasler needed to stop off and ensure nothing happened to them!"
"It isn't a stopover, but the end of the line."
"... Uh?!"
The sudden realisation and sheer stupefaction hit you, at last.
You were stunned to find out Ingo had been referring all along to Lady Sneasler's den.
You remained at loss for words until Ingo's request drew you out of your wool-gathering state.
"Would you mind feeding them those berries, please? Lady Sneasler and I shall return promptly."
Ingo had lit up a camp fire, burning bright and warming the whole cavity up.
"Y-yeah, sure!"
"Much appreciated! Please, make yourself at home!"
"O... Okay!", you replied hesitantly, casting glances all around you in confusion.
Ingo's eyes suddenly opened wide in shock, as if struck by lightning.
"Did you... want to sleep at the camp, perhaps? M-my apologies, I wrongly assumed you wanted to stay with us for the night... However, it isn't too late to make a formal appeal to these gentlemen!"
