The soft morning light streamed through the curtains, warming Tae’s room as he slowly stirred awake. A dull throb echoed in his head, and he winced, rubbing his temples. But despite the headache, there was a strange calmness resting in his chest—a feeling he couldn’t quite place. He lay there for a moment, staring at the ceiling, trying to piece together the blurry fragments of last night.

Then, in a flood, the memories came back to him.

He had met his parents, their harsh words still biting at him in memory, followed by the drinks… too many drinks. He remembered crying, and then—oh no. His cheeks flared as he recalled Jungkook holding him, whispering comforting words as he clung to him, calling him his bunny. Tae’s eyes shot open as the embarrassment washed over him. I actually called him my bunny?

“Oh god,” he muttered, running a hand over his face. “How… how am I supposed to face him now?”

Just as he was struggling with the shame and gratefulness tangled in his chest, the door creaked open. Tae froze, looking up to see Jungkook standing there with a tray in his hands, a glass of water and some painkillers balanced carefully on it. Jungkook’s usual warm smile was tugging at his lips, and he seemed completely at ease, as if nothing had happened last night.

“Good morning,” Jungkook greeted, his voice soft. “Thought you might need these.”

Tae’s cheeks flamed, and he quickly looked away, his fingers twisting in the bed covers. “Uh… thanks,” he mumbled, taking the medicine from the tray, grateful Jungkook hadn’t mentioned anything from the night before. He swallowed the pill, taking a few sips of water before setting the glass back down.

“So, how’s your head? Still hurting?” Jungkook asked, his tone soft as he leaned against the doorframe.

Tae nodded slowly, giving a small, hesitated smile. “It’s… better, thanks,” he replied, his eyes drifting toward the wall, trying to avoid meeting Jungkook’s gaze. “But… uh, why are you already dressed?”

Jungkook raised a brow, looking down at his own outfit—a casual button-down shirt and jeans, the type of clothes he wore when he wasn’t planning to spend his day on campus. Tae’s eyes widened, realization dawning on him as he looked at the clock. “Wait… oh no, we’re late for university!” He sat up, panic flashing across his face. “Are you just about to leave?”

But Jungkook chuckled, shaking his head. “Relax,” he said, a playful glint in his eyes. “I’m not going to university today. And neither are you.”

Tae stared at him, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “And why’s that?”

Jungkook’s grin widened, a hint of mischief dancing in his eyes. “Because we’re going somewhere else,” he replied, his voice cheerful. “It’s a surprise. Just take it as… a family day out.”

Tae’s brow raised as he gave Jungkook a skeptical look. “Family?” he echoed, trying not to smile.

Jungkook smirked, his expression playful. “Well, Taehee calls me ‘dada,’ and you’re her appa… so, yeah,” he shrugged, crossing his arms as if it was the most logical thing in the world. “Pretty sure that makes us a family, right?”

A small smile tugged at Tae’s lips before he could stop himself, warmth spreading through his chest. But just as he was about to respond, Jungkook straightened up, tapping the door frame with a grin. “Alright, enough talking. Get ready. Our princess is waiting.”

He turned to leave but paused, peeking back through the doorway, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “And don’t keep your bunny waiting, either.”
