Jin sat on the bed, watching Jungkook, who was sprawled across a bean bag, completely engrossed in his video game. “Kookie, why are you doing this?” Jin asked, his voice cutting through the sounds of the game.
“Doing what?” Jungkook responded, his focus still on the screen.
Jin sighed. “Namjoon told me you’re causing problems for Taehyung. Is that true?”
“Absolutely not,” Jungkook replied, still distracted.
Jin’s patience wore thin. “First, stop playing and answer me properly!” he snapped, his frustration evident.
Startled, Jungkook immediately paused the game and sat up, giving Jin his full attention.
“Kookie,” Jin began, his tone softer now, “we both know how much you like Taehyung. So why do you always fight with him?”
Jungkook grinned from ear to ear. “I’m just teasing him, hyung. You know I’d never hurt my Tae.”
Jin shook his head. “Well, your 'teasing' is stressing Namjoon out. He was so worried about you that when we were on our date, all he could talk about was you and Taehyung. He wouldn’t stop all day.”
Jungkook chuckled sheepishly. “Sorry, hyung. But what am I supposed to do?”
“Why don’t you just confess to Taehyung?” Jin suggested. “That way, all these 'trying to get his attention' games will stop, and Namjoon will finally be stress-free.”
Jungkook looked horrified. “No way, hyung. Are you serious?”
Jin frowned. “Why not? Don’t you like him?”
“Of course I do,” Jungkook blurted out. “I love him. I love him so much.”
Jin tilted his head. “Then what’s the problem?”
Jungkook sighed deeply. “Hyung, it’s Kim Taehyung we’re talking about. Do you really think he’d like someone like me? Don’t you remember how hard I had to try just to get his attention—”
“By being his enemy?” Jin interrupted, mockingly.
“Did I have any other choice?” Jungkook shot back. “He never noticed me, not even a little, when everyone else in the college was after me. And now, I’m his only enemy.”
Jin just shook his head at Jungkook's strange logic. “Okay, but at least tell the others, so they don’t keep worrying.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Jungkook said. “If I tell them, do you really think they’d keep quiet? Especially Hobi hyung—he’d tell the whole college. Plus, we don’t even know if Tae is into guys. I’m fine being his enemy if that’s the only way I can stay close to him.”
Jin gave him a look of disbelief. “You’re weird.”
Jungkook just smiled innocently in response.
Jin shifted the conversation. “Alright, now tell me—what are you planning with this assignment you have to do with Taehyung?”
Jungkook’s eyes lit up as he realized what Jin was asking. “Hyung, after all this time, I finally have some alone time with my tiger, and now they’re trying to take that away from me!” he whined, his voice filled with mock sadness.
“They’re worried about Taehyung,” Jin explained. “They think you’re planning something evil.”
Jungkook quickly shook his head. “No way. I just act like that so they won’t suspect anything. You know I’d never hurt Tae—neither physically nor emotionally. I just tease him a bit because he looks so cute when he gets mad.”
