It was a quiet afternoon as Mrs. Choi and Jungkook walked side by side, heading toward her house. Jungkook, being the gentleman he is, had insisted on helping her with her grocery bags after they coincidentally bumped into each other at the shop. He had been buying groceries and supplies for his new home, but when he saw Mrs. Choi struggling with her load, offering a ride and help carrying the bags was an easy decision.
"Thank you so much, Jungkook-ah. You're such a kind young man," Mrs. Choi said with a warm smile, clearly impressed by his sincerity.
Jungkook smiled back. "It's no problem at all, Mrs. Choi. I’m happy to help."
As they arrived at Mrs. Choi’s front door, jungkook helped her carry the bags inside, as he was about to leave, his eyes caught something. Just by the window sat a beautiful orchid plant in full bloom. He paused, admiration flickering in his eyes as he bent down to take a closer look.
"Beautiful." he murmured. "Orchids are special, aren’t they? They symbolize love, beauty, and strength, but they’re tricky to grow. They need so much care and attention to bloom perfectly." he said, amusing mrs choi.He gently touches one of the orchid petals, adding, "You can’t rush them or they won’t thrive. It’s kind of like… when you care about someone deeply, you have to be patient, put in the effort, and wait for the right moment for things to bloom beautifully."
Mrs. Choi looked at Jungkook, surprised. "Oh? You know about flowers, dear?"
Jungkook straightened up, smiling a little sheepishly. "My mom loved flowers. She had a garden full of them—each one had a different meaning. She taught me."
Mrs. Choi’s face softened. "You truly are something special, Jungkook. I’m sure your mother must be proud."
Before Jungkook could respond, the doorbell rang. Mrs. Choi excused herself and opened the door, revealing none other than Taehyung, holding Taehee in his arms. Taehyung’s face faltered slightly when he saw Jungkook inside, but Jungkook’s playful smile was quick to follow.
"Ah, Taehyung!" Mrs. Choi said cheerfully. "Look who’s here! This is Jungkook, my new tenant across the street. You two should get to know each other."
Jungkook’s eyes twinkled with amusement as he gave Taehyung a playful, formal nod. "Jungkook, nice to meet you. I live just across from your house."
Taehyung, trying to keep a straight face, sighed inwardly. Of course, he’s playing along.
"Taehyung," he responded, deadpan, his eyes narrowing at Jungkook's grin. "I live across from your house."
Jungkook chuckled softly, leaning in just a little closer. "Nice to meet you, my neighbor... again."
Taehyung rolled his eyes, adjusting Taehee in his arms as Mrs. Choi obliviously smiled between them, none the wiser to their little game.
Jungkook’s gaze shifted to Taehee, her doe-like eyes already fixed on him. As their eyes met, she giggled sweetly, instantly melting his heart. But before he could react, Taehyung quickly turned Taehee around, facing her away from him. Jungkook sighed softly.
