Taehyung hurried down the hallway, his voice carrying as he called out, “Ma'am, wait!” Mrs. Min, who was just about to enter the classroom, turned to see him approaching.

“Yes, Taehyung?” she asked patiently as he caught up to her, slightly out of breath.

"Ma'am, I want to change my partner," he said, his tone filled with urgency.

Mrs. Min's face hardened a little. “Taehyung, I already told the whole class—the partners won’t change.”

“But ma'am,” Taehyung protested, his worry evident, “You know Jungkook hates me. We always fight. How are we supposed to do the assignment together?”

Mrs. Min gave him a knowing look. “Taehyung, you’re a brilliant student, and one of my favorites too, but that doesn’t mean I’ll let you change your partner for such a silly reason. You two are grown-ups. Stop with the fighting.”

“Ma’am—”

“If you’re just here to talk about changing partners, I’m leaving. I have a class to teach.” She turned to leave, but Taehyung’s desperation grew.

“Ma'am, can I do the assignment alone?” he asked, his voice softening, trying to look as innocent as possible.

Mrs. Min sighed, frustration creeping in. “Taehyung, it’s a pair assignment. How can you do it alone? What about Jungkook?”

“Ma’am, how about I do the assignment and just put both our names on it?” Taehyung suggested, hope gleaming in his eyes.

Mrs. Min looked at him thoughtfully before exhaling. “Talk to Jungkook. If he agrees, do whatever you want. But submit the assignment on time.”

Taehyung's face lit up with a smile. “Thank you, ma’am!”

“Now go, I’m already late for class,” she said, walking away as Taehyung did a small happy dance, relieved by her answer.

Later in the cafeteria,

Taehyung spotted Jungkook sitting with his friends. He took a deep breath and walked over.

“Jungkook.”

Jungkook looked up, holding up his chopsticks. “Oh, I don’t need more chopsticks, I already have some,” he said casually, completely ignoring the reason for Taehyung’s approach.

Taehyung sighed, trying to stay calm. “I just want to tell you, you don’t need to worry about the assignment. I’ll do it for both of us.”

Jungkook raised an eyebrow, amused. “And why’s that?”

“So that we don’t have to work together,” Taehyung said, trying to keep the peace.

Jungkook smirked. “Sorry, Taehyung, but I can’t let you do the assignment alone. It’s a team project, and we’ll do it together.”

Taehyung blinked in shock. “Wait… did I hear you right?”

Jungkook leaned back in his chair. “Don’t be dramatic. I just don’t trust you with my grades. I care about them too much.”

Taehyung could feel his temper rising but forced himself to stay composed. “Jungkook, you know if we work together, we’ll never finish the assignment. Let me do it, I promise your marks won’t suffer.”

Jungkook shrugged, already turning back to his food. “Nope, we’re doing it together.”

Kai, sitting nearby, leaned in and whispered, “Jungkook, why don’t you just let him do it alone? It’s a golden opportunity.”

J-Hope chimed in, “Yeah, Kook. Let Taehyung handle it. You know he’s number one in class. He’ll do a great job, and you won’t have to worry.”

Taehyung eagerly nodded. “Exactly! Hyung’s right. So… should I?”

Jungkook smirked, refusing to budge. “I know he’s right, but no. You won’t do the assignment alone.”

Taehyung’s patience snapped. “GO TO HELL!” he shouted, storming off, leaving behind a grinning Jungkook and a cafeteria full of wide-eyed students.

As the laughter died down, Namjoon, who had been watching the exchange, asked, “Jungkook, why are you doing this? When did you suddenly care so much about working with Taehyung?”

Jungkook’s smirk deepened. “How can I let my favorite enemy do all the work by himself?”

J-Hope shook his head. “Kook, your words and your face aren’t matching. What are you planning?”

“Nothing much,” Jungkook said with a devilish grin. “Just a little fun.”

Before anyone could ask more, Jungkook stood up and left.

J-Hope sighed. “This boy is definitely planning something. God save that poor boy from this brat.”

Namjoon nodded. “Don’t worry, Hobi. I’ll talk to Jin. He’ll make Jungkook understand. You know Kook can never say no to him.”

J-Hope and Kai nodded in agreement, though they all still wondered what Jungkook was up to.
