A/N: Oops, I totally forgot that yesterday was Friday and I had to update. Sorry😅 But here's the update.

AMANDA

✺✺✺✺✺

Everyone is just staring at me.

Their eyes display a wide array of emotions.

I am also feeling many strong emotions.

Ashton has yet to say anything.

I am debating wether I should have said anything in the first place. I did not do anything wrong; I just said what I was feeling. There is nothing wrong with expressing myself.

Ashton was a bit caught off guard by what I said, I can tell.

"I have to go," Ashton says while standing up abruptly.

He quietly but quickly scatters away from us, and out the door.

His new girlfriend, Isabella, is still sitting awkwardly on the chair next to Ashton's vacant one.

"I guess I should go too," she says after a short silence.

"Go ahead," I say with a sarcastic smile.

"Well it was nice to meet you, and I hope you recover well."

She is not anything like Mikaela from my coma, but I still do not like her. I do not like her for obvious reasons. I still have feelings for Ashton.

I wish I could truthfully say that I don't, but I still like Ashton. He has someone new, he forgot about me, but I still like him. That is a sad story I do not want to live out.

This is a heartache on the big screen.

After Isabella leaves, we are left in another uncomfortable silence.

Sophia, being the good best friend that she is turns to me and asks," so when do you get to leave this life sucking place?"

"Umm, I think tomorrow actually. They just have to run some tests, make sure everything is okay."

"Do you want to have a sleepover with pizza, ice cream, boy talk, movie throwbacks, face masks, and The Office binge watching when you get out?"

It feels so good to know that my best friend is still the same Sophia I left in this world. She is still willing to have a good old sleepover with me. The idea of watching movies and eating fat food with my best friend is oddly comforting to me.

"Yes, I would love that."

"It is a date then," Sophia says jokingly to me.

"We should all get together soon," Michael says.

"Well we haven't corrupted Jess yet, so you are very right, Clifford," Sophia replies with a radiant smirk.

"I have to agree with Soph on this one," I said siding with Sophia.

"There will be no corruption involving my girlfriend," Michael says while holding Jess in a protective way.

"No they won't corrupt me, baby," Jess says while kissing Michael quickly and laughing at him.

"Or so she thinks," I mutter to Sophia.

"Hey! I heard that!" Michael says defensively.

We all laugh at our odd joking ways.

"Yeah, we will hang out soon. We can also include Calum and his new girlfriend, Litzy, which, if I may add, we have yet to convert her to the dark side too," I say with a devious expression on my face.

"You two are something else," Luke says while chuckling.

SOPHIA

✺✺✺✺✺

"Do you want or need anything right now?" I ask Amanda politely.

"No, someone is already bringing me food actually."

"Who?"

"They should be here soon."

Right on time, there is a knock at the door.

"Come in," Amanda says happily.

Never, in all the times that I visited Amanda, had I seen her mom. Not once. So to say that I was shocked was an understatement.

For many reasons Amanda's mom was never very close to her. She always found excuses to be apart from her. We have concluded that she was jealous of Amanda's father, because Amanda favorited him.

But nonetheless, it just comes as a great surprise to me that she is here.

"I did not know how many people were going to be here, so I just got enough Asian takeout to feed a small village," Ms.Young says while checking all of the mess in her hands.

Ms.Young finally looks up from the things currently occupying her hands and scans the small room. Her eyes immediately spot me and they slightly increase in size.

"Oh, hey, Sophia, I did not know you were coming."

"Well, I am her best friend..."

"Yes, you are."

After that short conversation, the atmosphere was just little tense and eerie. We just ignored the awkward conversation and tried to continue our previous aura.

She offered us all food, and with a short mention of a thank you, we ate and had small talk.

"Well, I will be right back, guys," mutters Amanda's mom before walking out of the crowded hospital room.

"Oh my goodness, your mom is visiting you?" I whisper to Amanda clearly very surprised.

"Yeah, she has been visiting me for weeks apparently. The nurse that was designated to me was very honest and genuinely a sweet lady. She said that my mom came after visiting hours and she, she being the nurse, would just pretend that my mom was not breaking the hospital policy."

"Why do you think your mom came after visiting hours? Why not just come when everyone else is supposed to come?"

"I honestly don't know. I have been trying to figure that out myself. What is the point of coming when you are not allowed?"

"She still works right?"

"Yes, but that would not affect the timing."

"Well then I honestly do not know the reasoning behind that," I say, finally giving up on the case. "But I mean, how do you feel that she is here?"

"It makes me happy to know she cares about me you know. Since she has been distant for so long, especially since you know... But I'm glad she is here with me, for me."

"Do you think there is a catch or anything?" I ask honestly, not trying to be rude since it is a slightly touchy subject.

"No! Well...at least I hope not. I have had enough disappointment to last me a life time. I do not need more."

"I am truly sorry that you have gone through all the harsh things that you have, Mands."

"Me too," Amanda says barely above a whisper.

"On the bright side, at least you seem like you will have a full recovery. Your conditions were not looking good, but you made it through, and I am very grateful for that. I am glad my best friend is okay."

"Yeah, me too. Thanks, Sophia."

"You're right, there has been enough disappointment. You are going to be okay, everything is going to be okay."
