Chapter song: 5 Seconds of Summer- Lost Boy
LUKE

I walk into my room and slam the door. Who does she think she is, coming into my apartment, expecting me to treat her like a princess, yeah right? I need to blow off some steam. I quickly grab my guitar.
I've been working on this song for a little bit, 'Lost Boy'. The name isn't concrete yet, but I kind of like it. 'Lost Boy' perfectly describes how I feel right now. After the whole issue with the people that are supposed to care about me, I've felt lost. In the song it talks about a girl romantically, but I'm not always referring to just a girl. I wish I could find a girl to fill that void and to guide me. I know it isn't good to depend on someone to be happy, but I need someone. I feel abandoned.
The girl in the song is someone that I want, but have yet to find. I'm searching for her; I need to be rescued from my rough life. In some parts of the song, I'm not talking about the girl; I am talking about someone else.
They left me without direction, I feel so lost. I am looking for her, the one who can rescue somebody like me.
One day, the search will be over.
I will find you, love.

After Luke left I just stayed in the living room. I saw the remote on the coffee table, so I took it and turned on the TV. I've been watching mean girls for a couple minutes. I pause the movie as soon as I recognize the sound of someone strumming a guitar. Wow, they sound great. They start playing a few chords and then they finally begin singing.
I want to hear the words better, so I start walking closer to where it is coming from. It's coming from...Luke's room? Whoa, he is really good. I can faintly hear him singing," without you I'm a lost boy...come find me I'm a lost boy..." He sings absolutely beautiful, his voice is breathtaking. I can't deny that he has a lovely voice, even if he is rude.
I've never heard that song before; it makes me wonder if it is an original. I put my ear to the door and continue to listen to Luke. The music soon stops. Why did he stop? I was still pressed against the door when it's swung open. I tumble forward, and Luke catches me.
It would be a cliché romantic moment if Luke hadn't started screaming at me.
"What the hell were you doing? Were you listening to me? Do you not respect my privacy at all, Sophia?"
"Umm, I was just in the living room when I heard someone singing really well. I just thought you sounded good, so I wanted to listen to you closely," I respond nervously.
"Thanks, I'm flattered, but you still have to respect my privacy," he says slightly sarcastically, but I see him blushing lightly. How adorable, ha, loser.
"Well you sounded wonderful," I say.
"Thanks, it is still in the making so it's a little rough...like my life," he whispers the last part so softly that I think I wasn't meant to hear it. He just keeps getting more and more complicated and interesting. There is something about him that is so intriguing.
After a short moment of silence, we hear the door opening.
"I'm home," I hear Ashton yell.
I start walking out to greet him and inform him of my presence. As I start walking out, I can see Luke, from the corner of my eye, following me. We walk down the hall without breaking the silence. I get to Ashton first and I smile at him.
"Hey Ash," I greet him politely.
"Hey Sophia, what are you doing here?"
"Well after Michael and I went out, I asked him to drop me off at Amanda's apartment. I knocked, but she was...busy," I reply nervously.
"Oh, yeah, I was there with her. Amanda and I were watching movies," Ashton says.
"Don't forget making out," Luke mutters under his breath.
"What was that, Luke," Ashton asks smirking.
"Oh, nothing," Luke says, biting his lip, trying to suppress a laugh.
"Well I'm going to make Amanda take me home now, since it is late," I say to no one in specific.
"I'll take you home," Luke says quickly. I think I hear him mutter 'fuck' under his breath, I'm guessing he has a problem with word vomit too.
"Uh, you don't have to," I reply cautiously.
"I already offered, it's fine," he says with his head low.
"Let's go then."
"I'm just going to grab my keys, put on a sweater, my shoes, and then we can go," Luke says already leaving the living room.
After he leaves, Ashton says, "see, he obviously likes you." I start blushing like crazy when Ashton tells me that. Why am I blushing? He meant it in a friendly manner. "He really needs a friend, well besides me," Ashton says.
"Okay, let's go," Luke says grabbing his keys. We walk out and he leads us to his car. Once he turns on the car I can faintly hear 'Centuries' by Fall Out Boy. I love this song, so I start humming along.
Luke interrupts my humming when he asks, "where do you live?" I tell him the directions to where I live, and then it's silent again. I don't like vacant silences like this, so I turn up the music. I start singing softly, trying to harmonize with the song. I smile triumphantly as I successfully harmonize along.
"You sing well too," Luke says quietly.
"What," I ask obviously caught off guard by his compliment.
"If you want me to say it again for some satisfactory reason, that's just rude. But I am not going to repeat myself." He thinks I want him to repeat it for some selfish reason? Wow, he really thinks low of me.
"No, I was just surprised that you complimented me," I say nervously.
We finally arrive at my house and we just sit there without talking.
I start opening the door when Luke says," I'll walk you to the door." We both get out of his car and start walking to my door. I pull out my keys and open the door, but don't step in.
"Thank you, Luke."
"No problem," Luke says to me as he starts to lean in, for a hug. (A/N: Ha, y'all thought they were going to kiss!) Before he pulls away, I give him a kiss on the cheek. When we finally pull away I can see that he has a slight pink tint on his cheeks. I'm probably blushing too.
"I'm going to go now," Luke says awkwardly after a couple of seconds of just standing outside my door.
"Okay, I'll see you later, Luke." With that he walks away. I finally get inside of my house and just drop on the couch.
What am I doing? So many emotions and thoughts are running through my head at a time. I just keep replaying everything that happened today. The thing, more like person, that keeps coming up is Luke.
What am I going to do regarding Luke?
Well I know one thing for sure.
Ashton said it himself, he needs a friend. I'm determined to be that friend he needs.
I will learn everything there is about this mysterious boy, Luke.
