SOPHIA

✺✺✺✺✺

After a traditional eye bulging, mouth dropping, no-he-didn't conversation, we realized we were not going to catch up and finish in its entirety anytime soon, so we decided to go to her apartment to have a movie night.

Since seeing her last six months ago, Amanda moved into a new apartment. The living room had pastel yellow and white walls with homely dark gray couches. I immediately make myself at home and take off my shoes, a bad habit I have according to my mom, and then I sit on the love seat in front of her tv. She sat next to me with the remote, ready to pick a movie on Netflix.

"So what are we feeling today? Horror, drama, comedy..."

"Uh, do I want to cry or get scared and not sleep tonight?" I jokingly say.

"There's this movie called Room that I have seen a lot of people talking about on twitter. Apparently it's pretty good."

"What is it about?"

"I'm not super sure but I know a lot of people loved it and cried."

"I'm always in for a good cry over a tub of ice cream," I say implying that we need ice cream.

She did catch onto my ice cream comment as she quickly got off the couch and ran to her kitchen. After a bit of rummaging I hear her yell out in disappointment, "no, I forgot I ate all of it already. Dammit."

"Isn't there a little corner store down the street from here? I can quickly just walk there since I'm the one that asked for it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, of course, I'll be back in a little," I say while slipping my shoes back on and grabbing my things.

With just a few instructions on how to get out of the apartment complex, I begin my short walk to the small store attached to the gas station. Anytime I walk anywhere I always look like I am in a rush because of how quickly I go. Even if I am alright on time I simply like getting to my destination quickly, so I go full speed. Halfway there I feel my phone buzz and I check to see the notification; it's a text from Amanda.

Mands: Hey uh idk if you remember but my fav is rocky road...

I laugh at the message because that is exactly what I would do if someone else had the responsibility of getting ice cream. As I begin to respond to Amanda, I abruptly run into what I think was a wall. I try to reach for my phone, but it's too late, it's lying face down on the ground.

"What the hell," someone that apparently is not a wall screams at me. I quickly reach for my phone and finally pick up my eyes, there is an intimidating, yet very attractive, six-foot-something man, towering over my short frame.

"What's your problem," I question the rude man.

"You ran into me, dumbass, " he slashes back at me.

Now I am actually bothered with this guy. "Get out of my way," I say as I slightly shove him with my shoulder to show my annoyance towards him instead of wasting my time arguing with this stranger.

"Ha, you're going to regret that," he retorts as he grips my arm a little too roughly for my liking.

I pull my arm away, looking in disbelief of how he just grabbed me. I take a final look at the distasteful man that I don't even know the name of and just continue walking. I do not even live on this side of town, so the chances of seeing him again are extremely low. I truly hope I never see that sketchy man in my life.

A/N: I don't know when I'm going to post the next chapter, maybe soon. I'm actually really enjoying writing this, I'm excited. I hope y'all like this slightly longer chapter, the story is going to start picking up and more characters are going to be introduced.

Goodnight.
