Jungkook was still reeling from the shock, his mind spinning as he walked slowly, almost aimlessly, down the dimly lit streets of Gwaencheon. The cold night air bit at his skin, but it felt distant compared to the storm brewing inside his chest. He kept replaying the scene in his head, the last words Taehyung had said to him echoing in his mind, like a cruel, distorted melody.
He stopped in his tracks and glanced over his shoulder, eyes searching the empty street behind him. Taehyung was gone now, disappeared into the night, leaving Jungkook alone with nothing but confusion and hurt.
"You need to figure this out, Jungkook," Taehyung's voice still rang in his ears. "Jin was falling in love with you, enough to say goodbye to our 8 long years of being together. Stop the crap, you don't know what you are losing."
The words twisted in his gut, but Jungkook didn't know what to make of them. He'd never imagined Jin-Seokjin-could feel that way. Was it true? Was it even possible? They'd been close for sometime, like a real lovers, even when things were complicated, but could there have been something more? His mind fought against the idea, but deep down, he couldn't shake it.
With a heavy sigh, Jungkook turned and continued walking, his steps slow and methodical, almost mechanical, as if his body was on autopilot. He needed answers. He needed to figure out what had just happened, why everything felt so broken in an instant. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even notice the sleek black Audi speeding up from behind.
Suddenly, the car screeched to a halt just inches from him, its headlights blinding him for a moment. The door flung open with a sharp metallic sound, and a voice-loud, commanding, unmistakable-cut through the silence of the night.
"Get in!"
Jungkook froze, his heart pounding in his chest. The familiar voice sent a shiver down his spine.
"Jin?" he called out, barely above a whisper. The man in the car leaned forward, his expression unreadable, but the urgency in his tone was clear.
"Get in, Jungkook." Jin's eyes were hard, determined. There was something in his gaze that made it impossible to refuse, even though Jungkook's mind was still in turmoil.
Without another word, Jungkook opened the door and slid into the car, the leather seat cold against his legs. The door slammed shut behind him with a heavy thud, sealing him in the small, tense space with Seokjin.
Jungkook didn't know what to expect, but Jin wasn't giving him a chance to ask questions.
"Put your seatbelt on," Jin snapped, his hands gripping the steering wheel with white-knuckled intensity. The warning tone was sharp, but Jungkook didn't question it. He clicked the seatbelt into place as Jin slammed his foot onto the gas, the car lurching forward with such force that Jungkook's body jerked against the seat.
The streetlights outside blurred as the car sped through the quiet town, weaving through corners and straightaways at a pace that seemed reckless. Jungkook's heart thudded in his chest, not from fear, but from something else-something he couldn't name yet. His head was spinning, and the adrenaline from the fast drive only made things worse.
"Jin, what's going on?" Jungkook finally asked, his voice barely audible over the roar of the engine. Jin's jaw tightened, but he didn't respond immediately. The car hurtled down the narrow roads, the sound of tires on asphalt almost deafening.
"You don't understand yet, do you?" Jin muttered under his breath, his grip on the wheel never loosening. "Taehyung... he's right. You're not seeing it. And I can't let you keep making this mistake."
Jungkook blinked, feeling the weight of Jin's words settle heavily on his shoulders. "Mistake? What mistake?" His mind scrambled to make sense of it all, but the faster the car went, the harder it was to think clearly.
Jin's lips pressed into a thin line. "You don't know what I'm giving up for you, Jungkook," he said, the intensity in his voice leaving no room for argument. He slammed the car into the next gear, pushing the vehicle even faster. "I can't let you keep being blinded from this. Not anymore."
Jungkook's breath caught in his throat. He didn't know what was happening.
"All I need is assurance Jin. That's all I'm asking-"
The shock he felt was overwhelming. His body stiffened as, suddenly, Jin grabbed his hand, clutching it tightly after briefly placing it on the crunch stick His eyes widened in disbelief, watching their hands, still intertwined, as Seokjin forcefully maneuvered his hand to guide the car in the direction he wanted to go. The power in Seokjin's grip left him breathless, each movement deliberate, as if asserting control over not just the wheel, but over everything in that moment.
His own hand trembled against Seokjin's, the coldness of his skin sending a shiver down his spine. The chill felt like ice, the kind that came from nervousness more than the weather. His heart raced, a mixture of adrenaline and something else he couldn't quite place. He wasn't sure whether it was the shock of the sudden contact, or the tension building between them, but the feeling of Jin's hand over his, guiding and commanding, had him feeling unbalanced in the best and worst ways.
" H-hyungie..p-please calm down-
I'm pregnant!"..
He felt scared, Jin now was more like a wolf dominating the air. Although the feeling of heat under Jin's big hand, is enough to make him feel safe. He's scared because of the tension between them-
He beg but..
The car sped forward, the engine's roar filling the silence that stretched between them, but his thoughts runs elsewhere-on the way Seokjin's fingers wrapped around his with an almost possessive grip.
His gaze flicked to Jin's face briefly, catching a glimpse of concentration, but there was something else in his expression too, something deeper, as if he too could feel the weight of the moment."Don't pull away," Seokjin's voice broke through the tension, low and commanding, as if the words were meant for more than just the car ride. "I know what I'm doing. And don't use that" I'm pregnant" thing-
That only proves you never trust me"Jungkook felt that.
As he stared at Seokjin, he get what is coming.. his eyes dark and narrowed as it focused on the road. Jin did not say anything after that. The air between them seemed to hum with unspoken words, and he didn't know if he should pull his hand back, or if Jin expected him to stay there, trapped in the electric grip of his touch.
Don't pull away-
It seems like, Jin giving him a warning of not letting go.. not going anywhere-
Not without him! Not anymore!
