Dear Friend,
Happy New Year! I can hardly believe it's 2007 already. The holiday season was filled with warmth and laughter, and I cherished every moment spent with my family and friends. We had our annual gingerbread house competition, and let's just say my creation looked more like a lopsided castle than a house! But we had fun, and that's what matters.
Now that we're back at school, I'm feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety. My college applications are submitted, and I'm trying to distract myself from the waiting game. I've thrown myself into my writing, pouring my thoughts and feelings onto the pages of my journal. It helps me process everything, especially as I think about what lies ahead.
In creative writing class, we've started a new unit on memoirs. I decided to write about my journey through high school, focusing on the friendships that have shaped me. It feels cathartic to reflect on everything that has happened, and I'm excited to share it with the class. I hope they can see the beauty in the chaos, just as I have.
Yours,
Gracie
