On her motorcycle with Y/N, Jenna rode away from the ferry, the New York skyline stood from the distance across the water. The pair rode through a quiet residential neighborhood, the houses neatly lined with manicured lawns and the occasional dog barking in the distance.

They pulled into a driveway where a boy was playing basketball alone, dribbling the ball with quick, practiced movements. As the engine of the motorcycle rumbled to a stop, the boy looked up, his face lighting up with recognition. Jenna swung off the bike, her leather jacket creaking as she moved, and Y/N followed, unbuckling her helmet.

'Hey, Nick' Jenna called, offering a quick wave as she approached the hoop. The boy grinned, tossing the ball to her.

'Auntie Jen! Hi!' he said, his voice carrying a mix of familiarity and excitement.

Jenna led Y/N through the front door. The entryway was lined with framed photos, each one capturing moments from Jenna's childhood, her smiling face at family gatherings, her and Markus at a beach trip, a graduation photo where she looked much younger but still unmistakably herself.

'This place hasn't changed much,' Jenna said with a slight smile, running her hand along the edge of a shelf cluttered with trinkets.

'I can tell' Y/N replied softly, her eyes lingering on one photo in particular. A younger Jenna, arms around a girl who looked like she could have been a sister.

'Hey, Mom, Dad, we're here' Jenna yelled.

'Who's that handsome guy?' Y/N asked, pointing at a black and white picture on the wall.

'That's my dad when he was an ensign in the Navy. He got stationed here about 10 years ago' Jenna smiled.

'Hey, darling, I'm glad to see you' a woman, appeared in the living room, hugging Jenna and kissing her on the cheek. 'Perfect timing.'

'You know who this is?' Jenna tilted her head towards Y/N.

'I do. Hi, Y/N. I'm so happy to have you here in the flesh. You're just as pretty as you sound on the telephone.'

'Natalie!' A sound was calling for the older woman from outside.

'I'm coming! Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Excuse me. Show her upstairs, okay?' Natalie looked at Jenna and walked back outside.

Out of nowhere, little boy, around two, toddled across the room with unsteady steps, his chubby legs wobbling as he made his way toward Jenna. His tiny hands reached up, tugging at her pant leg as he looked up at her with wide, expectant eyes. Jenna, who was just about to show Y/N the rest of the house, glanced down and smiled, but then quickly noticed the telltale frown on his face.

'And this is Markus Jr, my brother's kid' Jenna gently scooped the little boy up, cradling him against her hip. 'You need a change, huh? Hang on, little guy. We'll get you cleaned up in no time.' He squirmed a little, but the promise of comfort in his auntie's arms seemed to settle him, his fussing turning into a soft coo.

'Go out back. Have a good time. I'll be there with you in a minute' Jenna caressed Y/N shoulder and walked away with Markus Junior.

Y/N stood hesitantly in the living room, feeling slightly out of place in the house. She wandered through the back door and onto the terrace, where Jenna's family was gathered around a table, laughing and playing a card game. Jenna's mom was playfully teasing her husband, while her brother, Markus, raised an eyebrow at a hand he was holding.

They didn't seem to notice her at first, and Y/N just stood there for a moment, watching them. She felt a warm, unexpected tug in her chest as she took in the ease and affection that seemed to flow between them. It was a simple moment, but it made her smile, this was family, real and unguarded, and for a fleeting second, it felt like she was part of it too.
