It's Monday, September 1st. The day that almost everybody dreads...the first day of school.

Every year it's the samething. The rowdy kids and the nagging teachers. Ugh...who ever said 2 months of summer was a long enough break lied.

I stared out the window and sighed. It's already 6:00 am and I have to get ready for school soon. Maybe if I just crawled back into bed and go back to sleep, my mom wouldn't notice me not going to school. Who am I kidding? That will never happen. I haven't missed a day of school since, Kindergarten. There could be a blizzard outside and my mom would still send me to school. SHE thinks its her duty to wake me up so I can go to school no matter what the circumstance is.

"Hurry up and get dressed for school before you're late, Paige!" My mom yelled, quickly snapping me out of my daze.

Speak of the devil, I thought.

I sighed making my way to my closet to find something to wear. "Hmmm what to wear...?" I thought out loud.

Since it was the first day of school I decided to wear something simple. I threw on a pair of khakis and a white tank top to wear with some matching shoes and then I applied some colored lipgloss on my lips and put my hair in a ponytail. After I checked my self in the mirror, fully satisfied, I headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Good Morning Sweetheart", My mother greeted me. "Are you ready for you're first day at school today?"

I managed to force a smile and say, "You bet mom. Can't to learn new subjects."

"That's the spirit, Paige. I bet you miss all you're friends too. What were their names again? Danni, Nick, Carlton and Jelen-"

"Mom we aren't friends anymore and I rather not talk about it right now before school." I replied cutting her off. "I better get going before I'm late for school. Bye mom."

"Bye, Pai-" I was already out the door before I heard the rest of that sentence.

After a long 25 minute bus ride, I finally arrived at Rosefield High. I take a couple of breaths before I walk in.

"Paigeeeee!" A familiar voice yells out.

It sounds like... "Daniel!" I call out instantly with a smile. "I feel like I haven't seen you in like forever. Where have you been?"

Danni and I have been best friends for as long as I can remember. We did everything together, from swimming to sleepovers. We've always had each other's back, through the good time and the bad. I still remember Danni eating two whole pints of vanilla ice cream after Jack broke up with her.

She rolled her eyes and then hugged me, all in one swift motion. "Please, we were just hanging out yesterday P. And you know i prefer when people call me Danni. I hate when people call me that."

Now it was my turn to roll my eyes. "It sounds too formal, I know," I teasingly mock. "Did you get our schedules?"

"Yeah", she said handing it to me. "We have one class together, trig and its first period."

Math first period. What fun. I thought Sarcastically.

As Danni and I made our way to Trig, we caught up with each other. Apparently, Danni has a new boyfriend and he's a Senior.
