Unexpected turns

Chapter VI

I stormed into my first period class expecting to see Danni. I didn't even bother to wait at my locker this time because I knew that she probably wouldn't even show.

Yeah I'm still pissed that she bailed on me Saturday. I mean who wouldn't be? The least she could've done is called or text me that she's not coming. Is it bad that I want to hang out with my best friend?

I watched as the rest of the students fill up the seats before the class began. Not too soon after, Mr.Mathews, my math teacher came in.

"Alright class." He said clearing his throat. "Today, we're learning about trig functions.

I kept looking at the empty desk waiting for Danni to arrive but she never came. I shook my head. I hope she's not letting her boyfriend influence her because that wouldn't be like her.

I pulled my eyes off of the empty desk and forced myself to pay attention to what Mr.Mathews was saying.

If she wants to have a failing grade because of some boy then fine. It's not my problem.

I felt a little balled up piece of paper hit my head. I looked in the direction it came from and saw Jelena smirking. I rolled my eyes trying to ignore her but I felt another piece of paper hit my head bigger this time.

I looked up to make sure Mr. Mathews wasn't looking. When I was sure he wasn't I opened the paper.

~ Guess your little friend came to her senses like I did. Hmm...now if only those boys could see what real beauty is.

I closed my eyes taking deep breathes trying to calm myself down. I heard her and her friend Bethany giggle. Which made my face get red with anger.

I raised my hand as calmly as I could. "Mr. Mathews, may I please go to the bathroom?"

"Take the pass." He said nodding in my direction.

I grabbed the pass and storm out the door as quickly as possible. I rushed to the bathroom busting through the doors and headed straight to the sink.

I then turned on the cold water and splashed my face with water. I took a few moments to calm myself before I walked out of the bathroom.

Immediately, I bumped into a hard figure.

Are you kidding me right now? It's too early in the morning for this crap already.

"You really need to watch where you're going." The oh so sweet person says as he holds me up from falling flat on my butt.

I scoffed, removing myself from his grip when I saw who it was. "Maybe you should watch where you're going."

Michael rolled his eyes. "I do what I want." He said leaning his back against the wall. "So later I'm gonna be free. We can work on the project-"

I narrow my eyes at him cutting him off."My schedule doesn't revolve around you Micheal. If we're making plans, it's going to be in a way that they fit both our schedules."

He raises an eyebrow. "Seems a bit hypocritical." He mumbled lowly. "Well we agreed to do it after school today so-"

"Pause." I cut him off again. "If I do remember correctly you agreed to meet Monday."
