Unexpected turns

Chapter VIII

The rest of the week went by rather quickly. Just one blink and then before I knew it, it was Friday.

I haven't spent that much time with my boyfriend lately because of the stupid art project. When I was able to hang out, Gregg claimed that he was busy. I wonder what's been going on with him.

I walked through the familiar halls, dodging students in the hallway. Don't you hate it when people block the hallways to walk really slow with their dimwit friends? Like move out of the way asshole.

I literally had to elbow my way to Mr.Mathews class.

I took my seat that was in the center of the classroom. I watched students fill in the seats quickly and soon Danni took her seat to mine.

"Look who finally decided to come to class." I said teasing her.

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Haha, very funny, Paige."

We chatted for a while before we were interrupted.

"Look what the cat dragged in." Jelena scowls.

I scoffed. "Save it for someone who cares."

"I'm sure you'll start to care very soon because I know something you don't" She said singing the last part.

I simply rolled my eyes. She wasn't going to get a reaction out of me today.

Losing interest in me, her eyes dart to Danni. "Oh darling, I always had faith that you would be smart and live up to your potential but sadly I was wrong. What a shame. You could've done so much better."

Danni looked away and started playing with her fingers.

My eyes widen and whipped my head towards Danni. I was taken back by her unusual demeanor. Usually she'd give Jelena a piece of her mind but instead she didn't.

Something must be wrong.

I turned back to Jelena. She had a smug look on her face. "So pathetic." she spat. "There was a reason I came over here though."

"Honestly Jelena, I don't care but I have a feeling that you're going to tell me anyways."

She stalked towards my desk. "A little birdie told me you've been hanging out with Michael a lot lately..." She paused to glare at me . "I'm only going to say this once. Stay away from my boyfriend."

I rolled my eyes again. "Spare me, I don't want your boyfriend I actually believe you two are perfect together.

"I'm sure some people thought the same exact thing about you and Gregg." She swished her hips as she walked back to her seat.

What the hell is she talking about?

I shook my head, that girl is getting crazier and crazier by the day. "Hey what happened? Why'd you let her talk to you like that?" I turned to Danni looking at her confused.

She shrugs and before I could interrogate her more the teacher came in. I faced forward in my seat sulking. I tried to pay attention to the lesson but my mind kept wandering off.

Everyone has been acting weird lately. Jelena hasn't really been on my back much, which i really shouldn't be complaining but she claimed she knows something about me that I don't. I should stay more alert when it comes to her. I'm not comfortable with her having the one up against me.
