In the book, Valeska has no friends. The only people she interacts with are her cousins, but she often ignores them and focuses her attention only on Israfel. Beside, her father was used to hanging out with the other mafia before, but nang magsimula na itong mailuwal si Valeska sa sinapupunan ng kanyang ina, he stopped attending meetings and missed out on all the action na magaganap sa bawat organization.

He prioritizes his family over killing, but there are always those troublemakers who love to interfere, kaya minsan napipilitan ang ama nya na makipagpatayan. Hindi naman sila gaano naghihirap dahil mayaman naman talaga sila because of their business. But being a mafia is never easy. Killing is killing, and sometimes you'd rather risk your own life to protect someone and find peace.

That's what Valeska's father did. He didn't sacrifice himself to death but chose to protect his daughter na nalulong sa pag-mamahal katulad ng ina ko kaysa isipin ang kung ano ang mas ikakabuti para sa sarili nya. Lahat ng tao dito sa bansa nila ay ayaw sa kanya dahil sya lang daw ang magdadala ng pahamak sa kanila, pero ate nyo deadma. Magkamatayan man silang lahat basta kay Israfel pa rin sya. I haven't finished the book, so I don't know what happened to her or how she faced the death.

But I already know what embarrassing thing Valeska will do tomorrow. But, syempre ako yung nandito so I'm going to avoid that. I don't want any trouble or noise in my life. If I can't control myself, I might just chop off their heads and tongues. Damn it.
