The wood nearby was dense and deep
As the sun went down like a sunken ship.
A girl I saw, young and pretty
In yellow, a girl I knew.
She crept slowly inside the wood
I trailed behind her, as fast as I could
The twinkling stars laughing gay
Like the pretty girl, in the silent play.
Jet black like the night hair she had.
Sapphire blue eyes that drove me mad.
A melodious tone, a face enthralling
Suddenly she turned round
She saw me.
My soul, dormant, felt
Her jasmine skin.
We talked all night, like two birds free.
A verse, a song when she smiled at me.
Every moment bidding me not to go
As if
Our love, the same, one hundred years ago.
