The thought I had missed so far

I sat there by my window side
As the full moon took its flight.
A time when I usually write
My thoughts and ideas in the depth of night.

My mind was blank like an empty shell
While crickets made night a ringing bell.
When out of nowhere a charm that fell
On my mind which did at once sail.

A girl came out of the misty hue
As star of the starry night, clad in blue.
She glittered a smile which very well I knew
For her I write, this song I sew.

She looked at me, I looked at her.
She knew me and I knew her.
She smiled at me, I smiled at her.
She was the thought I had missed so far.
