Thoughts in the Depth of Night

What a day it has been
New sights and beauties I had seen
Now that I sit to write
No idea walks past me.

Now when I start to write
Pondering in the depth of night
No line seems to etch that makes me happy
If it is not devoted to my graceful Lady.

In the stillness of this darkness
When many are reshaping their sadness,
My world seems to be frozen
My time is given to idleness.

I sit and think of her beautiful gay
A meaningless trance; a moonlit play
Her hair which cascades like a sheet of glass
Her eyes, which are but twinkling stars.

I swoon, drunken in her magical charm.
No word seems to describe her.
I nod drowsily in her words wise and deep.
Till I am drowned in the depths of sleep.

All through the night, I dream of her
A sight soothing from anywhere.
A smiling daisy, which always beams
No thought without her, even in dreams.
